Christmas sharing and caring

Hello everyone welcome to my blog🤗.
Merry Christmas, how did you celebrate yours?
I want to share with us how i celebrated my Christmas in church.

After our annual church harvest a few weeks ago, I noticed that the church become scanty, only few church members attend programs. I believe that most people have travelled for Christmas.

Last week, we had a series of activities, including a Christmas carol. We had a great time singing hymns and Christmas songs.

The pastor announced the Sunday before Christmas that we should arrive at church on Christmas Day bringing food, drinks, or whatever we could afford.

He emphasized that we not go overboard with food and drinks that there is no need to try to impress anyone knowing fully that the economy isn't friendly. He remarked that the essence of bringing those items to church is for all of us to share in love whatever we have.

Christmas is a time when we exchange gifts, encourage one another, and thank God for sending his only son for oursake which is the greatest love .

On Christmas morning, I began cooking and doing other housework. My family and I always visit home for Christmas, but this year we did not.

I did most of the cooking alone. It wasn't easy for me because I'm used to preparing Christmas delicacies with my siblings and extended family.

When we're together, we chat, play, and laugh while we work, and there's division of labor among us, so the major fun of Christmas is the cooking process, where we converse and catch up on old times.

I missed traveling home this year, but thank God for technology. We made video conversations every day to ensure that I did not miss out on any of the wonderful events that we enjoy as a family.

Back to where I was, after cooking on Christmas Day, I wasn't sure which food flask I'd use to take to church; I had several flasks in various sizes, so making a decision was difficult for me.

I didn't want to go to church with too much food to avoid waste, but neither did I want to go with too little. The pastor clarified that it wasn't mandatory for all members.

So I was thinking 🤔 , what if everyone brought food to church; would there be a waste?
Or due to the hardship, what if only a few members brought food, that means there won't be enough for everyone 🤔.

I opted on a medium-sized flask. I'm glad I made the choice.

When you arrive, there is a table where everyone has dropped off their stuff outside the church, so you don't have to know who brought food and who didn't. I appreciate the concept; at least people who can't afford to buy something won't feel intimidated.

After the sermon, before finishing the service, the things were brought into the church, and some women helped arrange all of the food and drinks on the table. It was set up in a buffet style.

After praying for the food and drinks, the pastor indicated that we will take turns going and ordering the food we want, while the women will serve everyone their requested potions.

We had an incredible love feast. We all gladly share the joy of Christmas. While some members are eating and others took turns getting their food, Christmas tunes played in the background, brightening the mood.

There was enough food for everyone, and there was even room for extra potions for everyone who wanted one.

I was sitting close to to a man seems he isn't married who was speeding through his plate of food so he could get more. He remarked that he was unable to afford a proper meal this year Christmas due to the hardship. He doesn't have any food at home, so he wants to have lunch and dinner at church.

I felt for him because I knew how much costs pf items have risen this Christmas, combined with the fact that the economy is not favorable.

I'm delighted the church brought up the idea of eating in church on Christmas Day.
That act of compassion has put smiles on so many people face and at least they won't feel sad because they couldn't do muchfor themselves.

I'm really glad I took some food to church on Christmas Day 🤗.
