Might be days late from the last Easter Sunday celebration but sharing here some of the activities we did last holiday. In our country, holy week means long weekends as usually work was only until ash Wednesday (depends on the nature of work). Then, Sunday is usually for celebration and at the same time I felt sad as the holiday was almost over.
Here I am, feeling lazy to prepare a decent meal so I ended up with instant pancit canton, boiled egg and milo (chocolate drink). While eating, I was thinking if I should get back to work the next day or just file a leave of absence . One of the reasons why sometimes I don't want to go home is because I felt so relaxed and comfortable to the point I no longer want to travel back in the city.
Then, after a while, I overheard my sister in law outside tying some strings as a mark for egg hunting. It was a small area in our compound as the participants were our four toddlers (kids of sis and bro in-laws).
I bought some chocolates and candies last month, which are supposed prizes in games during the gender reveal. However, since we started late, no more time for the kids to play. It was left untouched. Sister in-law just bought some for additional.
Quite enough for the kids. Also added some plastic eggs to be used later. Art materials to divert the attention of energetic ones while someone is keeping those eggs in the backyard.
There is a written number for each egg, which corresponds to a number for a prize. Thus not all, just few lucky numbers.
For a while they are engrossed in coloring those images on the eggs yet after a while, they get tired. Well, pretty normal, I am not surprised at all as their age, their attention span, tolerance isn't that long.
So, I kept on persuading them to continue and finish to color all eggs as there will be a prize later!
Did they agreed?
Well, just a few minutes . After they got busy with other business. Yet thankful brother in law was done. We only wait for grandma before starting the activity.
And the hunters! Ready kiddos? Make sure to find eggs as much as you can without your Mother's help .
And they rush at the center to look for the subject, without noticing these eggs just placed on the ground. Camouflaged beneath those grass.
Did you spot it?
I found one! He was so glad and kept it in a paper bag.
Maybe there is one kept in here.
X: Did you find one J?
J: Ahmm, still looking.
E: Let me look.
And now they are three checking
X: Oh no, you guys should not follow me!
This made me laugh. It Seems the competition is tight! All participants were determined to win.
Yep, there are some eggs kept on the potted plants, yet they haven't found it immediately.
What about you baby girl? She is actually on the verge of crying as her paper bag is still empty. LOL, so I helped her for a while.
Until, only five eggs left! Everyone was saturating the compound looking for where those eggs were! It was so much fun and I even joined.
And the game ended with those kids smiling widely and having those candies and chocolates in their hands.
What about you? Did you have fun last holiday?
