Today, my son, nephew and I decided to take a well-deserved day off. Our initial goal was to visit the Plaza de la Revolución, an emblematic place with a great museum and a viewpoint. We took the 39th street which has a lot of vegetation and is very flowery at this time of the year, however, when we arrived, we found out that the museum was closed due to the holidays, I think it should be the other way around, but who understands. Although we were initially a bit discouraged, we decided to get back in the mood and decided to take advantage of the day.
Without thinking about it, we changed course and headed down Paseo Street until we reached the intersection of 21st and 2nd Streets, where we found a small establishment where we had lunch. The pizzas were delicious and the soft drinks were cold, which we appreciated due to the hot weather. I really liked the place, it was small but very clean and quiet, the service was quite fast and the atmosphere was cozy, we rested from our walk and filled up with strength to continue.
We continued walking along 21st street and when we reached the intersection with the Crecherie passage we came across something unusual, an outdoor art exhibition. On the second floor of a building, a gentleman has set up an artistic workshop where he transforms discarded objects into works of art, at that moment he was busy and could not attend us as they say he usually does with everyone who approaches that corner, which did not prevent us from appreciating his art as it is exposed to anyone who wants to see it.
He uses different materials such as, old broken records, disused pipes, dry coconuts, toilets, wood, cans, stones, wires and all recoverable materials. With paints and glue he creates and gives amazing shapes. My son was fascinated and had his portrait taken with several of the colorful dolls.
This type of art is called recycled art, a creative expression that uses reused materials to create new works. We stayed for a while admiring the pieces, in the four corners and in front of the workshop is where there are more figures, although in the rest of the block you can still see other pieces, some neighbors told us that it has become a habit, that almost every day many people come to his house to give him some material that he can use and the neighbors serve as his assistant when he is in his creative process. I think everyone contributes to give that picturesque touch to the area.

We stayed a while admiring the pieces before going back home, entertained, I was very glad to have changed course and not get frustrated and go back home, because I discovered a quiet place where they make delicious pizzas and most exciting, the recycled art gallery outdoors, so it's good sometimes to change plans, we had a different day with new experiences.
See you next time friends! 🌟

¡Hasta la próxima amigos! 🌟
