I recently left home to take a walk along the avenue that borders the Malecón Habanero. I really enjoy these walks and many times I did them with my son. This time I didn't have him with me physically, but I still walked with him. I walked through several places, but a park caught my attention next to the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, an archaeological park, which is located exactly on Empedrado Street, from Avenida del Puerto to Cuba-Tacón Street, extending along the latter street, belonging to the Habana Vieja municipality.
On my tour of this area I was impressed by the design of the park. The first thing you see is a small bridge on a brick base, which matches the paving stones on the ground, next to the back wall of the Fortaleza de la Real Fuerza. I went there and observed its beautiful gardens, which are beautiful and very well kept. There are some sculptures and lush vegetation, where the contrast with the flowering bushes is really charming.
Hace poco salí de casa para dar un paseo por la avenida que bordea el Malecón Habanero. Disfruto mucho estos paseos y muchas veces los hice con mi hijo. Esta vez no lo tuve conmigo físicamente , pero aún así andaba junto a él. Caminé por varios lugares, pero me llamó la atención un parque junto al Castillo de la Real Fuerza, parque arqueológico, que se encuentra exactamente en la calle Empedrado, desde la Avenida del Puerto hasta la calle Cuba-Tacón, extendiéndose a lo largo de esta última calle, perteneciente al municipio Habana Vieja.
En mi recorrido por esta zona me impresionó el diseño del parque. Lo primero que se ve es un pequeño puente sobre una base de ladrillo, que hace juego con los adoquines del suelo, junto al muro posterior de la Fortaleza de la Real Fuerza. Fui hasta allí y observé sus hermosos jardines, que son hermosos y muy bien cuidados. Hay algunas esculturas y una vegetación exuberante, donde el contraste con los arbustos floridos es realmente encantador.
To the right of the small bridge is a sculptural ornament resembling three sailboats, a truly beautiful work. Nearby there are seats for anyone who needs to rest, and these seats simulate boats, a very original design that perfectly matches the name of the park.

This site houses excavations showing the remains of the Muralla de Mar, which gives its name to the park. It was built at the same time as the Wall that surrounded all of Havana, with the aim of preventing the entry of foreign travelers into the city and protecting its material resources during the Spanish colony. It extended from Punta to the current Castillo de la Real Fuerza, bordering the bay.

These remains are historical and cultural relics, which show the extensive defensive system of colonial Havana, fortified with castles, moats, towers and bastions to resist the attacks of corsairs and pirates who ravaged the Caribbean.

Among these archaeological findings are the remains of a famous Havana fish market that was demolished due to construction problems, leaving its foundations buried. This discovery was incorporated into the park as part of the life of the city, and very close to this place, there are authentic fishing boats, a symbol of the supplies that the area received.
Entre estos hallazgos arqueológicos se encuentran los restos de un famoso mercado de pescado de La Habana que fue demolido por problemas constructivos, quedando sus cimientos enterrados. Este descubrimiento se incorporó al parque como parte de la vida de la ciudad, y muy cerca de este lugar, se encuentran auténticas embarcaciones pesqueras, símbolo de los abastecimientos que recibía la zona.
This park, like all archaeological excavations, can be accessed from any of the streets that pass near it. It is a place that Cubans pass by and often do not realize that it is a place that contains part of our history. However, reservations can also be made for a guided tour at the Historian's Office, where they offer a detailed explanation of all these findings, so that visitors can delve deeper into our history and culture.

Es un lugar por el que pasan los cubanos y muchas veces no se dan cuenta de que es un lugar que encierra parte de nuestra historia.
