Hello, how are my dear friends? Today I would like to share with you my tour around the Negra Hipolita Park here in my city, Valencia, Venezuela, where I was for a family reunion, we had some time without seeing each other so we wanted to spend a different time with the ones we love the most.
Hola ¿cómo están mis queridos amigos? Hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi recorrido por el Parque Negra Hipólita aquí en mi ciudad, Valencia, Venezuela, donde estuve a propósito de una reunión familiar, teníamos tiempo sin vernos así que quisimos pasar un rato diferente con los que más amamos.
This beautiful park was inaugurated in 1983 and is named Negra Hipólita in honour of Hipólita Bolívar, the wet nurse of Simón Bolívar, our liberator, and is located in the northeast of the city. It is 2 kilometres long and contains a great diversity of flora and fauna, the Cabriales River, small huts or spaces where people can have children's parties or picnics, an exercise area, a bamboo forest, a leafy forest and asphalt paths.
Este bellísimo parque fue inaugurado en 1983 y lleva por nombre Negra Hipólita en honor a Hipólita Bolívar, la nodriza de Simón Bolívar, nuestro libertador y se encuentra en el noreste de la ciudad, tiene una longitud de 2 kilómetros y contiene mucha diversidad de flora y fauna, está el río Cabriales, contiene pequeñas cabañas o espacios para que las personas puedan hacer fiestas infantiles o picnics, aérea de ejercicio, un bosque de bambú, un bosque frondoso y caminarías de asfalto.
The first thing we see when we enter is a statue representing Hipólita, the liberator's wet nurse, made by the artist Alexis Mujica. She was very special to him and he considered her his mother, for that reason, at the base of the statue there is a plaque with an extract from one of Bolívar's letters where he asks his sister María Antonia to look after his nanny: "I send you a letter from my mother Hipólita, so that you give her everything she wants, so that you do for her as if she were your mother, her milk has nourished my life and I have known no other father than her".
Lo primero que podemos ver al entrar es una estatua que representa a Hipólita, la nodriza del libertador, elaborada por el artista Alexis Mujica. Ella era muy especial para él y la consideraba su madre, por esa razón, en la base de la estatua hay una placa con el extracto de una de las cartas de Bolívar donde le pide a su hermana María Antonia que cuide de su nana: "Te mando una carta de mi madre Hipólita, para que le des todo lo que ella quiere, para que hagas por ella como si fuere tu madre, su leche ha alimentado mi vida y no he conocido otro padre que ella"
I hadn't been there for a long time but during my tour I discovered great things like this large sports field, and there are actually several like it.
Yo tenía mucho tiempo sin ir pero durante mi recorrido descubrí cosas grandiosas como esta amplia canchas deportiva, y como esta hay varias en realidad.
The place is beautiful and very well kept.
El lugar está hermoso y muy bien cuidado.
At a certain moment my parents asked me to accompany them to the forest to take some photographs, they were holding hands like a couple of sweethearts, and the truth is that the beauty of the place encouraged romanticism, the leaves of the trees were greener than ever due to the continuous rains. I could not stop taking pictures of everything I saw because I loved to see the sunlight passing through the leaves of the trees and the beauty of the bridge.
En determinado momento mis padres me pidieron que los acompañara al bosque para que tomara algunas fotografías, ellos iban tomados de la mano como un par de novios , y la verdad es que la belleza del lugar animaba al romanticismo, las hojas de los árboles estaban mas verdes que nunca debido a las continuas lluvias. Yo no podía dejar de tomar fotografías a todo lo que veía porque me encantaba ver la luz del sol pasar por entre las hojas de los árboles y la belleza del puente.
There are some lanterns on the road to the forest, which I assume they light up after six in the evening, although the park is already closed at that time.
Hay algunos faroles en el camino hacia el bosque, los cuales supongo que encienden después de las seis de la tarde, aunque a esa hora el parque ya está cerrado.
At a certain point in the forest there is an artificial grotto and a statue of the Virgin Mary in her invocation of the Immaculate Conception, to which my father is devoted, so obviously I had to take a photograph of her next to it.
En determinado punto del bosque hay una gruta artificial y una estatua de la Virgen en su advocación de la inmaculada concepción, de la cual mi papá es devoto, así que obviamente debía tomarle una fotografía junto a ella
My mum and I didn't miss the opportunity to take pictures with the grotto either, it was very relaxing to listen to the sound of the water, so I guess it must be the perfect place to sit and read for a while.
Mi mamá y yo tampoco perdimos la oportunidad de tomarnos fotografías con la gruta, era muy relajante escuchar el sonido del agua, así que supongo que debe ser el lugar perfecto para sentarse a leer un buen rato.
Another thing that caught my attention was to see that there are even works of art arranged in some clearings in the forest and to top it all off one of them is coincidentally my favourite, an extract from Las Meninas (where only the Infanta appears) and Velázquez, the author (as this work contains a self-portrait). The work is not in the best condition, but at least its presence is appreciated.
Otra cosa que llamó poderosamente mi atención fue ver que incluso hay obras de arte dispuestas en algunos claros del bosque y para colmo una de ellas es casualmente mi favorita, un extracto de Las Meninas (donde solo aparece la infanta) y Velázquez, el autor (ya que esta obra contiene un autoretrato) La obra no está en el mejor estado, pero al menos se agradece su presencia.
And we couldn't conclude the post without a photograph of my parents admiring the course of the river, it's a very nice picture that I like very much.
Y no podíamos concluir el post sin una fotografía de mis padres admirando el curso del río, es una fotografía muy bonita que me gusta mucho.
