A day of the exciting championship games that ended up with flavorful grills with unlimited rice? Ah! I had a great time watching the InterAlumni Basketball League of Holy Cross High School at Camp Phillips Social Hall and then after I went to Bukidnon Inasal at Damilag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon for dinner.
The Thrilling Championship Games
The sense of camaraderie among the alumni who gathered to support the beloved Alma mater Holy Cross High School from the oldest batch to the newest generation was deeply appreciated as the Batch 1998 was the sponsoring batch for the Grand Alumni Homecoming.
I arrived at the social hall at around 4 pm with my Strawberry Cheesecake Frappe. I brought to the court a few snacks like frappe and burgers so I would not miss a moment and just sat at the bleachers until the championship game ended.
It was an exciting moment since two categories for Championship games will be played. The first game when I arrived was still an elimination game of the older batch which was a game between the Batch 1995 and the Batch 1999.
After four quarters, it ended up that the Batch 1995 won. I remember during the Basketball league last year, the team was the Champion. After all of the teams were eliminated, the teams that remained in their category were Batch 1995 and Batch 2003 for the Final Championship game. Then the Championship Game of the New Batch Category followed which was a game between Batch 2021 versus Batch 2016.
The game between batch 2021 and batch 2016 was so thrilling since the score was almost equal. When the fourth quarter was over, both the teams had the same final score. Since they were equally the best, there was an overtime game that happened.
Last year, the Batch 2021 was the champion but this year, it turned out that the Batch 2016 defeated them. The team members in Blue Uniform were the Batch 2016 while the team members in White Uniform were the Batch 2021. Overall, Batch 2016 was the Champion of their Category, and Batch 2021 was the First Runner-Up.
While the teams were having a photo opportunity during the awarding of medals, Batch 2003 and Batch 1995 were preparing on the court for the Final Championship game.
The game between Batch 1996 and Batch 2003 was also so thrilling since they both had the same scores during the four quarters. But just before the fourth quarter ended, the Batch 2003 defeated the Batch 1995, the team that was the champion of last year’s Basketball league.
Now, batch 1995 was the First Runner Up and Batch 2003 was the overall Champion of the InterAlumni Basketball League with the team uniform in a combination of blue-green and orange. The game ended at around 7 pm and I decided to go to Damilag, Manolo Fortuch, Bukidnon to visit the Bukidnon Inasal and have a delicious dinner.
Unlimited Rice And Chicken Inasal
Bukidnon Inasal was inspired by the country’s well-known Mang Inasal has also flavorful grills. After going to Camp Phillips Social Hall, I stopped at Damilag, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Philippines to have my dinner.
When I entered the place, the staff were busy grilling. There were no other customers aside from me so I had the chance to ask queries on the staff since I noticed a friend who is always staying at the restaurant, and little did I know that the owners of this place were my friends in high school when I was still living at the Pineapple Country Homes.
I ordered the flavorful Chicken Inasal with the leg part and the Unlimited Rice. For the drinks, I chose to order the lemon juice. After I ordered, I looked for a table where I could sit while also having quick snapshots of the place.
I sat in a corner near the door. While the staff was grilling, I strolled around. Although the restaurant was not so huge, I loved its calming atmosphere. It has a similar setting to that of the Mang Inasal’s place and the only difference was some of the menus.
When I felt that my orders were almost served, I went to the washing area washed my hands, and sanitized them. And then, I have read texts below the mirror that they were born to grill.
I had the chance to capture the reflection of myself in the mirror. Meanwhile, I went back to the table as my orders were already served by the staff. I could smell the savory aroma of the Chicken Inasal which is one of my favorite Filipino foods.
What I love about Chicken Inasal is being grilled while being marinated with a variety of spices and seasoning. And I also love the Chicken oil combined with the sauce that has lemon, vinegar, and hot chilis.
I truly enjoyed my meal. I had unlimited rice and the lemon juice was a perfect combination for my meal. I was so full and I enjoyed my dinner so much.
I left the place with an empty lemon juice bottle and an empty plate with the bones of the flavorful grilled chicken. It only proved how delicious the grilled chicken was at Bukidnon Inasal with the savory hot sauce as well.
Perhaps I enjoyed the day with the exciting moments on the court while watching the slam dunks from the InterAlumni Basketball League Championship Game with a perfect scene of camaraderie, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Dining at Bukidnon Inasal even made my night blissful with the unlimited rice and the delicious Chicken Inasal.
