An Interview Day with Princess!

I don't know what came over me today. Earlier this morning, I'd gone for an interview, and it took more than 2 hours to get done with it, all the while, I didn't remember to take a photo of the event. Although, I wasn't allowed to be on my phone while the interview was going on.

I was informed that the interview would take place today by 10 am and at fifteen minutes to 10, I was already seated in the office waiting for the person who would conduct one for me. I was busy rehearsing some possible interview questions and answers, and also practising the topic I would likely take, if possible I was called upon to do a practical in teaching to confirm if I am really a teacher, as said in my CV.

While on that, I was given a paper to fill in my name, qualifications, and preferred subject to teach and to write an essay on the topic, "My Responsibilities as a Good Teacher." I finished that within 10 minutes because it's something I already have an idea of and I don't need to waste more time so we could move to the next on the agenda.

Afterwards, I was led to a class to meet one of the senior staff who checked through my essay and awarded me a 6/10 score. I was asked a few questions and told to practice my teaching skills by taking two subjects and picking any topics of my own. I picked the English language with the topic "Sentences", and Mathematics with the topic "Simplification". In the end, I did a good job according to her, while also pointing out the mistakes I made, which I held in the palm of my right hand so I wouldn't forget but to work on.

From there, I was directed back to the first office I was in, where I was given these rules to go through and see if they were something I could adapt to, especially for those that weren't suitable for me.

I slowly read through the rules and smiled at some because they are something I wouldn't be able to do without, like not using lipsticks or putting on mini-skirts...for God's sake, these are something I do and shouldn't be disallowed all because I needed a job.

Then, we moved to the last part, where I was given a letter of appointment to start next week Monday. The pay is a good one; in fact, it was above my expectations and still okay for a place like where I am. I also was told I would be leaving the school by 3 pm every day except on Fridays when I'd close early.

But the not-so-good part was that I would be wearing suits every Monday. Something I have never worn before, and a job would want me to wear it. Right now, I am still thinking if I should go with the offer or not but was told to resume next week if at all I would accept such an offer, I don't think wearing suits would be something I'd like and even at that, the school would have to give me time to get a good one and start learning to put on suits.

I think if the salary is good and the rules do not go against your integrity as a person, it is worth thinking about it, I also understand that it is not an easy decision for you. Best of success with whatever you choose.
Best regards.

Yea, rules against my integrity would have been a no for me but since it's not, I can consider it. Thank you so much. I appreciate your opinion.

Most schools are very funny. With little pay they'd want you to dress like you are being paid a huge amount of money. But if you are seriously considering it, you would have to comply.

When my school also started with the rule of wearing of white and black every Monday, I wasn't feeling it at first but in time,I adapted.

Just have an open mind, you might really enjoy working there.

Yes, adaptability is the key. Thank you so much 💓 💗

Awwwn, let me say congratulations in advance to you sis.

As long as it is a school, you would've tasked with several of such rules. The key is learning how to modify then to suit your style and fashion sense. For example, the mini skirt rule could be something below the knee or better yet, you switch to wearing pants (plain trousers) instead.

Then for the suit part, all you need is a black blazer to wear with any top and skirt or trousers you may have. You can remove it when you are at your class or station, so as to ease some burdens.

The school I teach at now don't allow trousers, only skirts and I adapted. I'm sure you will too but most importantly pray and follow God's leading.

They don't accept trousers of any kind. I love your ideas and yes, I will definitely cope and modify things to suit my taste. I really appreciate this. Thanks so much, sis.

You are welcome 🤗🌺

Have a lovely day 😘

Thank you very much 👍

Congratulations

@beckyroyal has said everything I would have said. I think the school rules are not as strict as you are seeing it, if you open your mind.

You don't need serious money to get a good blazer. You can get a very good quality thrift blazers that's less than 10k, it just for you to work around how to use it and make it look corporate in your dressing.

All the best

Yes ma. This is good too

Thank you so much, sis. I truly appreciate this.

Always welcome 🤗

All the best sis. Don’t worry about the rules. God will situate everything. Just think over it as not to take a wrong decision.

Yea, I will. Thank you, ma'am 😊

🥰❤️

My dear if the pay is good go with it , just tell them to give you time to get a good suit since you don't have one. With time you will adapt to it
