Dhaka City Corporation Market is one of the famous places for retail shopping. It's a Hypermarket where you will find department stores and retail shops under one roof. The market also sells cooking products, beauty products, baby food, toys, and ceramics—everything we need for daily life. The best thing about this market is its retail price.
So, whenever I visit this place, I buy things in bulk. Because I have to pay extra if I buy the same products from other places.
Let me share my shopping adventure.
There are outdoor and indoor units in this market. In the outdoors, you will find fruits, towels, cheese shops, small toy shops, and vendors selling random things. And on the inside unit, there are all the big stores offering different products.
My shopping starts with the toy stores as I bought my son with me. We browsed different toys. He was looking at the Lego sets but this is not an occasion to buy one. We bought a YoYo and moved on to the next store.
The beauty product shops always attract me the most, not because of the make-up items but because of the large variety of products. This marketplace offers all the foreign products at a retail price which is not available anywhere else.
From toothpaste to lotion, from shampoo to lipstick they have everything there.
My favorite aisle is the food products. The bakery product stores and dry fruit shops are why I was there. There are hundreds of stores with different food products and cooking supplies/gadgets.
This was my shopping. I bought a few things for the bakery, like butter and chocolate chips. Also, there are noodles and raisins, tutti fruity and measurement cups, etc.
It was a nice shopping day.
After hours of shopping, it was time for some refreshment. Unfortunately, the marketplace changed a lot after my last visit and I couldn't find my two favorite snack shops, maybe they have changed their location.
So I took a lemon mint tea before taking a ride home. Fortunately, the tea was as it used to be; refreshing and heartwarming.
My hand was full and my wallet became empty after the day. But I was happy because the supplies I bought will go for months and I got them at retail price. What does a SAHM need to make herself happy? This was enough for the day!
