Coming back from it feels like I left behind everything. It's great. I'm not ungrateful but prefer living near nature and having a countryside lifestyle. Being in a megacity means it's almost impossible to access nature closely and especially having a river with a rural view nearby sounds like a dream.
Fortunately, all this became possible because of this place!
Mohammadpur-Dhaka is a diverse place where one side is covered in densely populated highrises and on the other side we get this; Turag River.
This is a beautiful view, just half an hour away from my home. I wouldn't say the river water is crystal clear, out of any city pollution. But this view is enough for the city dwellers to call it a day.
Moreover, there is a Flood Protection Embankment beside the river, where you will find a beautiful walkway. A few restaurants were also there to offer many types of food to add a little more refreshment to your trip.
I had a cup of tea on that morning.
There were also lots of trees. I have seen random vegetable plants also growing out of nowhere!
We found these two!
We spotted a huge River dredging machine digging and people were curiously watching the work. We also stopped for a few minutes to see how it was going.
And then found a random outstanding near the walkway!
After walking for a while, we took a break and had some light snacks and some chips.
It was a sunny and windy day although because of winter it was a little chilly. But I loved the weather.
Lastly, our journey ended with a cone of ice cream.
The city is growing every day and trying to land reclamation beside the river too. I wish the authorities could never let that happen. Like many other rivers, we don't want to lose this too.
We are blessed to have this insignificant place that is very significant to us because this is the only nearby place to have some refreshing air and escape the hustle of the city.
Have a good day everyone.
