Friend, family, and food; this combination is enough to make a day great, right?
I was feeling down and decided to stay home that Saturday. The weather was not nice—it was gloomy and foggy—and I felt the same way in my heart.
Suddenly, my favorite cousin's message tinged my phone. She asked if I was available in the afternoon and wanted to visit one of our favorite stores. I told her how I was feeling, so she told me to go to her place early, and we would go to the mall later in in the evening.
You know those days, when you don't even feel like getting up from the bed and getting ready to go somewhere to feel cheered up. It was that kind of day until I put myself together and went to her place.
She took me to their terrace so we could talk freely. We observed the city from there and talked about how this place is changing so much, how we all are, and in general, life is changing.
My cousin is 15 years younger than me, can you believe we spend hours talking, we have similarities and have a good bond. She is the youngest in the family. I don't know how, but over the years we built this bond and for the past few years we have been each other's favorite.
.
While talking we were watering the plants in their rooftop garden. Just like me, she is very fond of white flowers. Any variety of white flowers looks so beautiful to me, they are fresh, and feel divine!
After the sunset, we went to the nearby mall and had our favorite snack.
Whenever I visit my hometown, this is one of the foods I must try. The snack is called ChatPati, it's a mixture of Chickpeas, potatoes, egg, and a lot of other ingredients, and spices.
And the orange mint tea was the peak of the day, felt like the cheery on the top after having a spicy meal. We paid $.30 for each bowl and $.10 for the tea. The whole meal was under $1 only! A dollar made our day!!
Did the food make my day better? The answer is certainly yes. But it was overall for the company of my cousin and for the moments I had on their terrace. The view, the flowers, everything made me feel better.
Sometimes having a bad day made me realize how much we humans crave for company, a person to talk to, listen to, and spend time with. I'm sure you too feel like you need to take a break from your partner and spend time with your friends or family.
I'm glad that Saturday went well.
