Today I want to show you a brief tour I did this afternoon to Manzanillo, a town in the municipality of Antolin del Campo in the state of Nueva Esparta on Margarita Island.
The town I want to tell you about today is mostly fishermen families, it is ideal to find a good fresh fish if you wish.
Our initial plan was to take a sea bath, but due to the strong breeze blowing, we decided to postpone it and explore the beautiful bay of the area.

Hoy quiero mostrarles un breve recorrido que hice está tarde a Manzanillo, una localidad del municipio Antolín del Campo en el Estado Nueva Esparta en Isla Margarita.
La localidad de la que quiero hablarles hoy es mayormente de familias de pescadores, es ideal para encontrar un buen pescado fresco si así lo deseas.
Nuestro plan inicial era darnos un baño de mar, pero debido a la fuerte brisa que soplaba, decidimos posponerlo y explorar la hermosa bahía de la zona.

This bay is one of the few bag-shaped bays found on Margarita Island.
Les compartiré un poco de su historia contada por un lugareño que encontramos en la vía y le dimos un aventón, pues el iba cerca de nuestro destino, el mirador.
Esta bahía es una de las pocas bahías en forma de bolsa que se encuentra en la Isla de Margarita.
Fishermen anchor their boats here after their work, without worry due to the calm waters in this bay, there is never a rough sea.
Los pescadores anclan sus embarcaciones aquí después de su faena, sin preocupación debido a la tranquilidad de las aguas en esta Bahía, nunca hay mar de leva.
According to what I am told, around the 20th century, approximately the English took advantage of this bay to extract magnesite, being this area their port of embarkation. A railroad was used to transport the magnesite from the mines located in Loma de Guerra to the bay of Manzanillo, and the mineral was exported to Europe from this point. With much pride and some sorrow at the same time they told me that the railroad that was used was one of the first ones built in Venezuela.
In our journey to get to the viewpoint where we could see the bay, we had to go through a long road flanked by imposing mountains that have ultra basic rocks, where the magnesium carbonate originates, I was impressed by that.
Según me cuentan, cerca del siglo XX, aproximadamente los ingleses aprovecharon esta bahía para extraer magnesita, siendo esta zona su puerto de embarque. Para eso se utilizó un ferrocarril que transportaba la magnesita desde las minas ubicadas en Loma de Guerra hasta la bahía de Manzanillo, siendo exportado este mineral hacia Europa desde este punto. Con mucho orgullo y cierta pena a la vez me contaron, que el ferrocarril que se utilizó, fue uno de los primeros construidos en Venezuela.
En nuestro recorrido para llegar al mirador donde podíamos ver la bahía, tuvimos que recorrer por una larga carretera flanqueada por imponentes montañas que presentan rocas ultra bàsicas, donde se origina el carbonato de magnesio, quedé impresionada por eso.
These rocks are the result of deep geological processes and contain high levels of magnesium and iron, for me it was impressive to see the betas in the rocks. Don't think it was something I knew about, everything was explained to me during my tour.
Estas rocas son resultado de procesos geológicos profundos y contienen altos niveles de magnesio e hierro, para mí fue impresionante poder ver las betas en las rocas. No crean que era algo que yo conocía todo me lo explicaron durante mi recorrido.

I liked seeing the mix of mountains and sea, it is a view that you can't see anywhere else.
The beach is not very long, which makes it very cozy.

As the sunset would soon fall, I stayed a little longer, I love watching sunsets and I did not want to miss this one, I wanted to witness this natural spectacle and immortalize it with my photographs, I had heard that it was very beautiful, but I did not know how much.
Cómo pronto caería el atardecer, me quedé un poco más, adoro ver los atardeceres y este no me lo quería perder, quería presenciar este espectáculo natural e inmortalizarlo con mis fotografías, había escuchado que era muy hermoso, pero no sabía cuánto.
