Health is wealth they say and that is very correct because it is only health people that can think of using their wealth. I have seen alot of people who are very wealthy when it comes to money, they have acquired alot of assets and money is not a problem for them, but because they are not healthy enough to eat their money everything if left for others to control.

Moving on to our topic for this week @hive-reachout/inleo initiative 8. The topic for the week is a good one and also servers as a reminder for me to check my health habit. Sometimes we will become carried away by other things especially now that all we think of is what to eat in my country. Most people don't care much about their weal being.

First of all we want to look at what health is. According to Oxford dictionary, Health is the The state of being free from physical or psychological disease, illness, or malfunction; wellness. Looking at the definition, we will understand that is in two ways: both physical and psychological sickness. So alot of people might not be sick physically but are sick mentally. How do we deal with that in this generation when alot of issues come up every day trying to tear us apart from ourselves. This shows that we need to check our every day activities and be sure that it is healthy for us before embarking on it.

WHAT ARE THOSE HEALTH HABIT THAT WE NEED TO PRACTICE EVERY DAY?

This is leading us to personal hygiene. There are some measures we need to take that will help us when it comes to our well being. Here are some things I think have helped me over the years and can also help someone else who may come across this post:

  1. Eating healthy: I believe that this is where the journey of health begins. We need to check what we eat on daily basis. Like I said when I started, now in my country people just eat anything to survive because of the current hardship that the country is going through. I know that is no one's fault. But we still need to see how to balance things up. Don't just eat anything just because you want to survive. I know that vegetable is very cheap in the market and we can afford it. So instead of just eating junks we can mix it up with lots of vegetables.
  2. Eat at the right time: This is very important too. Some people just wake up in the middle of the night and go straight to their kitchen and start making food to eat. I have seen alot of people doing that. I know that the food belongs to you, but you must also eat in such a way that you will be healthy to live on. This also goes for people who eat late at night. Some people can just eat their dinner by 10 pm and go straight to bed. This is also a bad eating habit. Eat the right food and at the right time.
  3. Take enough rest: The world is actually going crazy. People just keep making money from Monday to Monday no rest. And the worse part is that the money is not even enough. The more you make money, the more you see reasons to make more, this is where we have gotten today. No money is enough and no money can ever be enough. Just do your best and live the rest for God. We can't kill ourselves just because we want to make money that we are not even sure that we are the ones to eat it. Rest is necessary.
  4. Go for medical checkup when the need arises: Sometimes we ignore the signs we receive from our bodies. We just keep working and working and never take good care of ourselves. Last two weeks I felt that my body is going through alot and it was affecting me. I decided to go and check myself up. Behold it was discovered that my BP is low and that was why I had my head always hitting me so badly. All thanks to God because I got treated and that was the end of the problems. Our bodies needs attention too. Let's learn how to give it all the attention that it's needs.
  5. Stay in a clean environment: Cleanliness they say is next to godliness. This is a wise saying because when your neighborhood is dirty even when you have good food to eat it will do you no good. One of the best way of good personal hygiene is keeping your environment very clean.
  6. Always be happy: I know that someone may say what is happiness doing here. Yes we need to be happy so that we can be healthy. If you are always sad, it will affect your health too. But when you see a happy man he is always healthy. No matter the situation of things we need to be happy and not always wear a sad face just because we are going through alot of hardship. Just be happy. At least we don't buy it with money.
    Finally, health is wealth. We need to give our health a proper attention so that we can enjoy our wealth when it comes.
