Happy weekend everyone. I must say that it's quite a privilege to write on this amazing community given the fact that this is actually my first post here. I saw the prompt for this week; week 34, and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to participate on it. So for this week's prompt, which is;
"One Thing Hive Has Done For You"
here's my own testimony. So, funny story, I was done with my tertiary institution getting to a year now but I hadn't been able to pay my school fees for my last session. It's kind of funny in the sense that while I was still in school I actually had the money to pay for my school fees on two occasions but I still ended up not paying my school fees, lol.
The first time the money came was as a result of the money I had saved up when I was working during my Industrial Attachment. After my IT was over and being able to realize money which was enough to pay my fees, instead of proceeding to pay it – like every other normal person would do – I decided to gamble with my school fees by investing it into something that would possibly multiply the money. But unfortunately, things didn't work out fine.
They say opportunity comes but once, but lucky for me, I was provided with another chance to pay my school fees. So, I happen to be a huge fan of music. As a matter of fact, aside my occupation as a student back in school, I was also a musician; a rapper, and still am. So one day I was on Instagram and I came across an open verse challenge of a newly released song. And the prizes were quite attractive.

So I decided to hop on the challenge, with the expectation of possibly getting the least position so that I could see something I could use to help stabilize my stomach because hunger was seriously dealing with me mercilessly that period. But as God would have it, I ended up coming first place. I was so excited! I felt on top of the world. The money was more than enough to take care of my fees. But the way the money disappeared from my hands is still a mystery yet to be unveiled today. After the money had left me that was when I realized that my school fees hadn't been taken care of.
I still had faith that I would recover the money before I say for my exams, but interestingly I ended up finishing my exams and signed out I still hadn't paid my school fees. I still kept on pushing by sourcing for other jobs I could get myself into that could help me raise money for my school fees but the only thing they could take care of was for feeding, and it was still through management.
Long story cut short, got introduced to Hive by a very good friend of mine around last year. I was initially introduced to crypto blogging by him earlier on but that was steemit and I didn't take him serious then. But later on, we stumbled into each other and I saw him putting down together a post on his tablet and I asked him what he was working on and he told me it was blogging as always. I decided to give it a trial this time around.
When I started off, it was indeed discouraging. Seeking for votes as a newbie and all. Even the votes I got were more like nothing, but I didn't relent. I had just quit from the place I was working, and there was no going back. I knew at this point I had to really put in everything I got. As time went by, through hard work and consistency, I began to see positive results.
As God would have it, I was able to realize money I am able to take care of my school outstanding which I definitely do not plan on investing or squandering like the previous times. This gave me a relief. All through the time I was done with school I kept on cracking my head how to settle my school fees because right from my second semester in my third year in school I had been mostly responsible for myself concerning school matters and other areas. But thanks to Hive, I was able to take care of it.
I am really glad to have come across this platform and the friend that introduced me to it. I am also glad for certain communities I have been privilege to be a part of, @hive-reachout being one of them.
