WHAT IS SELF-COMPASSION:
Self-compassion is the art of treating yourself with the same kindness, understanding and care that you would offer a friend when that friend is in any form of situation, problem or challenge. It involves acknowledging your imperfections, mistakes and failures without you being overly harsh to yourself. Self-compassion invites you to be your own best supporter.
Imagine living in a world where self-compassion is the norm. A world where individuals recognize their worth and treat themselves with love and respect. Such a world is within reach if each of us individuals would choose to embrace self-compassion in our daily lives. Life can be so challenging and tough, whether it is school pressure, career challenges, or constant flood of social media. Making you feel like you are not measuring up or not achieving anything in life. in the midst of all these challenges, it's easy to be your own worst critic.
In Nigeria today we face so many problems and challenges, ranging from poor schooling system, poor medical care facilities, poor means of transportation, inflation of basic amenities to survive and the latest now the hike in price of all petroleum products, a country where all activities depend on the price of PMS PRODUCTS. Sorry I am using Nigeria, it is also true All over the world . All this can make one overwhelmed and during these tough moments, many of us turn to self criticism and tough it out, believing that being hard on ourselves is the only way to stay strong. I could remember within the week I asked myself if I am actually doing enough? I became worried for nothing. Then I remembered being self compassionate is the key to navigating challenges.

CULTIVATING SLEF-COMPASSION:
Self-compassion is a journey that begins with small, intentional steps, start by paying attention to yourself, we must learn to notice our own thoughts and emotions without being judgemental, acknowledging when we are in pain or when we have made a mistake, instead of criticizing ourselves. Studies have shown that those who practice self compassion tend to be more resilient in the face of adversity.
