Finally your fashion enthusiast is here. I'm super excited to be part of the hive family and to share a little about myself with you guys.
My name is Leo Theophilus Samuel, the fifth son from the family of six, I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I'm from kaduna state but I was born in Jebba, Kwara state. A graduate of Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger State. Department of Architecture.
I'm a fashion designer with an unwavering passion for creativity and detailing. l have been a fashion designer for six years and I own a brand LEO_STYLEEMPIRE.
Let me share a little about the brand, the inspiration behind the logo and brand name. The brand name was actually coined from my name Leo. Leo as you all know is the botanical name for a lion. The representation of a lion is one which often connotes strength fierceness kingship and formidability, hence the slogan "roar with style". Here we make neatly tailored bespoke Suits, Native wears,

with careful attention to details from the stitches down to the finishing for both male and female. I remembered vividly when I first started out as a fashion designer, l sewed a coffee brown material with black thread, l thought it didn't matter and that the client wouldn't even care after all it's just a trouser nothing serious, but to my surprise the client complained bitterly and I'll never forget what he said to me, in his own words he said "l thought you are a professional" that statement hit me hard and I decided from that day, I will always pay attention to details and never sew anything based on assumption again rather with certainty. I sewed both at home and while I was in school. l took part in some fashion gigs, one of which was around June this year, I took part in a runway fashion event BEES REVAMP 2.0 themed ROYALTY as one of the fashion designers showcasing their works.
l partnered with the host of the event Dr. Blessing Okuson a lecturer in Federal University of Technology Minna, she's also a fashion designer and a stylist. Together we worked tirelessly and did a very good job with the outfits blending traditional and modern African royalty together.
It was really a memorable event for me, because I got to meet different fashion designers, models, stylists and make-up artist who also brought in their A-game. I learnt a lot from their diversified experiences.
l love arts and things that boosts my thinking and creativity. When I'm free I sketch out new design ideas and go on YouTube and browse about recent trends in fashion to keep myself updated.
I also love reading books and watching movies.
l first heard about hive blockchain from a friend, I reluctantly opted to giving it a try because honestly I've been a victim of several Ponzi schemes, hence I thought hive blockchain was one of those platforms that demands money before registration or one that will ask you to deposit a particular amount of money and withdraw x2 of what you deposited in 3 days. However after a careful series of enquires and follow up, l realized that hive blockchain is actually a platform where I get to meet with different people with like minds, sharing our experiences and communicating our thoughts on topics that interests us. I will like to appreciate my tutor @ovey10 who taught me in one of the mentorship class we had on telegram that hive blockchain is a platform that offers a life time opportunity for aspiring individuals with a drive and passion, looking to find their place and purpose in this life. He also gave a brief introduction to Web3 technology at large. I understand through his teachings that hive blockchain is a journey that requires an investment of time , focus, commitment and thorough study in order to understand it and bring my dreams and aspirations to reality. Hive blockchain for me is a bedrock to learning about other block chains and web3 technology at large. I'm excited to get started and I hope the entire hive blockchain family supports me in this journey of bringing my dreams and aspirations to reality.
My journey and experience as a fashion designer has been one with challenges and mistakes which I have learnt from and made myself better, I hope to share these experiences on this platform to guide aspiring fashion designers on the do's and don'ts of fashion design. l look forward to connecting with fellow fashion designers and senior colleagues in the fashion business and to share my knowledge and experience with you guys and to also learn from yours.
