Hi Hiver, how are you all? Hopefully in good health.
This is my first post in this community. I want about a monument in my area of Aceh. This monument reminds us of the most devastating disaster at that time, namely the Tsunami that devastated the land of Aceh which occurred on December 26, 2004.
Where at that time all the buildings became rubble and most of the people living in coastal areas died. Even hundreds of thousands of lives were lost. The world is also concerned about the Tsunami disaster. Various world institutions also pay attention, carry out reconstruction and rehabilitation.
Various foreign NGOs came to help bury the bodies that were scattered everywhere. The destroyed buildings were rebuilt. The incident occurred precisely at the End of the Year An event that shook the world. A tsunami is a large wave of sea water caused by an earthquake.
That morning everyone was celebrating their day off. But at eight o'clock in the morning an earthquake shook the earth in Aceh, everyone was stunned. Then they were afraid and ran after knowing that the sea had risen to the land. The wave had blown away all the buildings, all that was left was the land like a savanna.
Now this monument is history. Designed in a globe architectural style. Maybe our government is also grateful to the countries in the world who have helped the people of Aceh after the Tsunami.
This globe has a map and globe in the atlas. As a symbol of caring on behalf of humanity towards the world and the earth. There are several holy verses of the Koran that are painted in gold ink, as a warning call to always remember the natural disaster.
Until now, our local government also cares about the monument. The walls are like the dome of a mosque that needs to be remembered. And this is a space for people who want to be worshiped praising God.
Beside this is a wall with a circle of love, belief and very religious architectural style.
And these are the nameplates of people who have died as a result of the Tsunami who were buried en masse in public cemeteries. The names are very many in infinite number and count, unfortunately I do not know the number. But it looks like thousands of people have died as a result of the Tsunami.
On the way I took this picture, I found a beautiful flower in the front yard of the monument. The flower is pink and very cute for me to photograph. That's it guys, this is my first post, sorry if there are any shortcomings, I'm not an architect. Greetings from Aceh and Thank you for everything.
