Many times we live in places for months or years and we don't get to know completely some areas of our neighborhoods. I have been busy for a couple of days moving (that's why I have been a little absent here) moving from one neighborhood to another and yesterday during that process walking through the neighborhood where I lived I found this architectural jewel.

It is the basilica of Santa Rosa de Lima, located in the neighborhood of Balvanera belonging to the autonomous city of Buenos Aires. I had to stop for 30 minutes, admire its structure, go around the basilica and take these photos for the community, I found it interesting and impressive. Even though it was raining and the weather was not very nice, I had to stay and capture these images to share them with you.

This basilica is of catholic cult, built between the years 1928 and 1934 under the neo-Byzantine style and being in charge of the architect Alejandro Christophersen who took as influence for this construction the French cathedral Saint Front and that he himself called the church with a Romanesque-Byzantine style.

The temple was built almost entirely of bricks on the outside and there is a large green dome very similar to that of the congress of the nation, however it was chosen in that color with the intention that the dome of the congress became green over time and remained that way. The dome of the basilica of Santa Rosa de Lima has 18 columns that support it, these are of Greek style and on the sides we have two additional small domes. At the back there is a tower.

This huge main dome is made of copper and tiles from Italy. The building, besides being covered with bricks, is made of stone and granite. At the main entrance you can see in the center of the basilica the sculpture of Santa Rosa de Lima between columns.

Inside the basilica there is a high altar and a low altar made of marble with gold plates, it also has a crypt and a permanent manger. The interior design of the building I could not see it, because the basilica is closed during my visit, for this reason I only comment on some specific details of what is inside.

Among so many basilicas, churches, cathedrals of the city, this one is quite particular in relation to its structure and aesthetics. I wondered how would be the view of the city from its main dome and in fact in January of this year there was a guided tour to access the viewpoint of this basilica, I would have liked to attend but it will be another time.

So I conclude with this post dedicated to the basilica of Santa Rosa de Lima which belongs to the neighborhood of Balvanera where I spent more than 6 months and just met her yesterday unexpectedly. What do you think of this work and its style?

My friend, my respect as always for your splendid photographs. This temple that you show us surprises me and what a coincidence that I just showed one in this neo-Byzantine style. The Basilica Santa Rosa de Lima is undoubtedly a jewel of architecture and I hope you can get to know it inside another time. I wish you success with the move, that really takes time. Take care my friend.

Thank you very much friend for your kind words. I just commented your post to you pointing out the same thing 🤣 they are fascinating these churches @sorprendente you have to immortalize them under photography. Thanks again friend, I'm trying to make time aside for Hive so I'm not so inactive. Hope you are very well paisano.

To immortalize them, exactly paisano, we must make them last as valuable photographic records. Success.

Exitos.

The building has amazing architecture and classical atmosphere, i love the way you take good shots of several photos Mr. @dimascastillo90, hopefully i can enjoy another great architecture on community, happy weekend 🤗

Hello @citaamanda Thank you very much for the nice appreciation of the basilica and my photos. I hope you can enjoy a post that I have been meaning to do for a while now but due to personal issues I have not been able to travel there. It's the cathedral of Lujan with more than 100 meters high and it is imposing. I hope to have some additional photographic equipment for that trip. In the meantime I will continue uploading content not less important of the city where I live. Thanks for your kind words, I hope you have a nice weekend 🤗

As you always do @dimascastillo90 , an excellent selection of photos, where you give a complete overview of the architectural features of the building and its details perfectly recorded. Beyond that, the "artistic sense" that you add in many of these photos is worthy of a big applause... The image with the church reflected in the water, the one of the main door, the other with the street lamp in the foreground... Are really postcards... Beautiful work this one... Greetings and thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much friend @jlinaresp as always your words are very much appreciated. I am very happy that you like my work and enjoy the photos I take. Always trying not to fall into monotony and to do different things. Thanks friend a hug from Buenos Aires 🤗 Blessings to you and yours.

Hello @dimascastillo90. You always have that skillful ability to scout for wet pavements, sidewalks, or streets where the featured architecture is reflected like a mirror. And that's truly admirable! In this case, the majestic Basilica of Santa Rosa de Lima overflows with architectural life with its remarkably stunning perspective.

It's absolutely a great relief to be able to discover some built treasures just hidden within your own neighborhood (before even traveling several kilometers to foreign destinations to document other works 🤣). isn't it?

Thank you so much for appreciating my photos @storiesoferne it's so! Buenos Aires never ceases to amaze with its impressive buildings and amazing architectures in different styles but still you have to go through other territories. Next 90 km trip... Luján (in a few weeks 🤣) Thanks again my friend 🙂
