In a previous post I mentioned that when it was announced that the largest shopping mall in Venezuela (Parque Los Aviadores) would be built in my hometown I felt very proud and excited, but those emotions intensified when I learned that it would have an attraction that is one of my favorites so far, I mean the movie theaters. Obviously there were already movie theaters in other places, but they were not as close as I would have liked, so the fact that the mall was built close to my house was a great advantage for the future as far as going to the movies was concerned.
The city of Maracay is considered the cradle of aviation in Venezuela, here there is a very important military air base, there is the aeronautical museum, there is a traffic circle called "The plane", was built the Parque Los Aviadores shopping center which is shaped like an airplane, among other allegorical elements to aviation sprinkled throughout the city. I do not know very well the history of why this city was considered by previous governments as a place to venture into aeronautics, but I think it has to do with its strategic position and because the president in office was from this city, but I repeat, I am not sure, I only mention this because it is general cultural information of my city.
But the aforementioned was a preamble to show you the facilities of the Supercines Los Aviadores branch, so let's get to it.
Candy sales
From the main entrance we can already see that the airplanes are highly considered in the design of the cinema and not in a discreet manner. The space in which they sell the candy and drinks is fully integrated into the structure of a large airplane that by its shape seems to be a boing 747, it is very similar to large commercial airliners. To the right is a typical boarding aisle, very well characterized.
Ticket sales
In the area destined to the sale of tickets for movies we can see the characterization of a communications control tower, the check-in and several elements that we usually see in airports. There is also an area to buy express tickets, but it seems to be disabled, this option was the one I used the most in the past as it saved me a lot of time when there were long lines.
Movie theater entrance
When I took these pictures I wasn't really going to see a movie, I was just passing by, so I couldn't access the movie theaters, but as I have been in them before, I can tell you that they are quite normal, that is, they don't have any aviation related elements. I was only able to take pictures of the area before the movie theaters and as you can see it is quite spacious. What is remarkable here is that the signs indicating the theater number have the word "gate" on them, something we only see at airports.
Common areas
The common areas are reflected with replicas of different types of airplanes, mostly old and with murals which have historical information of the most important events of aviation in the city of Maracay, the truth is a delight to move through these spaces.
This is how the branch of Supercines Los Aviadores pays tribute to my city, which as I mentioned before, is the cradle of aviation in Venezuela. It is interesting to move around those spaces and see elements that we would never see in other cinemas, in fact, I think it is almost an attraction worth visiting even if you don't want to see a movie. It was a pleasure to share, a hug!
