It is impressive the fact that there are places that at one time were brimming with commercial success and popularity and that currently do not exist or are dismantled. I think it is very unfortunate that the economic situation of a country leads to the collapse of companies that for years were thriving and produced jobs for dozens of people, but that is something that happens everywhere, some companies have the ability to withstand the economic onslaught and others do not, so their fate is to disappear and be progressively forgotten by those who, somehow, were part of the history of these companies.
Such is the case of the restaurant “Bodegón de Sevilla”, or well, actually old restaurant, this one is currently closed for definitive way and although I was not a regular visitor of this place (I only went once), I always knew of its fame, its prestige and the quality of its dishes. As its name says, this restaurant was inspired by the Spanish culture, more specifically to the city of Seville, so the menu was arranged for purely Spanish dishes and drinks, and well, the structure and ambiance were also set up to make the experience feel like that of a Spanish medieval tavern.

The truth is that I could not determine the architectural style of this building, but it is evident that it is inspired by the architecture of the city of Seville. It strikes me that the structure is not uniform in form, in fact, I could not decipher the intention of the architect, it seems a building that was made in an improvised way as the years passed, by the way, according to a plaque made in cement, this building was built in 1878, so now it has more than 100 years of having been built.

The restaurant had different balconies and small windows that remind me of elements of Arabic architecture. The prevailing colors are white, green, beige and the red of the clay tiles, a combination that seems to be extravagant, but from my point of view works quite well. I was also struck by the amount of detail that the building has, each corner is completely different from the other and that is something that I have seen little in the structures that I have shared in this community.

It is striking that such a building is abandoned, frankly I feel very sad that a historic place for the city like this is now full of bush and is destined to be destroyed by the weather and as a result of the natural flow of time, I really hope that someday it will be recovered.

As I mentioned above, I only went to this restaurant once, it was not a place where I could attend quietly due to budgetary issues because although it is true it was not the most expensive, it was not the cheapest, so in that sense I had limitations, however, one Christmas many years ago, a company for which I used to work organized a party for employees in the restaurant and I of course could not miss that opportunity. I tried different appetizers, different drinks, Valencian paella, seafood, among other things that I don't remember right now, but what I do remember is that there was live music and an atmosphere that seemed from another country. It was a pleasure to share once again with the community, I send you a big hug!
