Bodegón de Sevilla - A beautiful abandoned buildingun título.jpg

It is impressive the fact that there are places that at one time were brimming with commercial success and popularity and that currently do not exist or are dismantled. I think it is very unfortunate that the economic situation of a country leads to the collapse of companies that for years were thriving and produced jobs for dozens of people, but that is something that happens everywhere, some companies have the ability to withstand the economic onslaught and others do not, so their fate is to disappear and be progressively forgotten by those who, somehow, were part of the history of these companies.

Such is the case of the restaurant “Bodegón de Sevilla”, or well, actually old restaurant, this one is currently closed for definitive way and although I was not a regular visitor of this place (I only went once), I always knew of its fame, its prestige and the quality of its dishes. As its name says, this restaurant was inspired by the Spanish culture, more specifically to the city of Seville, so the menu was arranged for purely Spanish dishes and drinks, and well, the structure and ambiance were also set up to make the experience feel like that of a Spanish medieval tavern.

The truth is that I could not determine the architectural style of this building, but it is evident that it is inspired by the architecture of the city of Seville. It strikes me that the structure is not uniform in form, in fact, I could not decipher the intention of the architect, it seems a building that was made in an improvised way as the years passed, by the way, according to a plaque made in cement, this building was built in 1878, so now it has more than 100 years of having been built.

The restaurant had different balconies and small windows that remind me of elements of Arabic architecture. The prevailing colors are white, green, beige and the red of the clay tiles, a combination that seems to be extravagant, but from my point of view works quite well. I was also struck by the amount of detail that the building has, each corner is completely different from the other and that is something that I have seen little in the structures that I have shared in this community.

It is striking that such a building is abandoned, frankly I feel very sad that a historic place for the city like this is now full of bush and is destined to be destroyed by the weather and as a result of the natural flow of time, I really hope that someday it will be recovered.

As I mentioned above, I only went to this restaurant once, it was not a place where I could attend quietly due to budgetary issues because although it is true it was not the most expensive, it was not the cheapest, so in that sense I had limitations, however, one Christmas many years ago, a company for which I used to work organized a party for employees in the restaurant and I of course could not miss that opportunity. I tried different appetizers, different drinks, Valencian paella, seafood, among other things that I don't remember right now, but what I do remember is that there was live music and an atmosphere that seemed from another country. It was a pleasure to share once again with the community, I send you a big hug!

Este edificio es increíble, es una pena que esté abandonado, porque resulta muy interesante.
¡Un saludo!

Oh my God, how unfortunate.

You can't imagine how much it hurts me to know this news, because whenever I passed by the avenue I always looked at that place wishing someday to go and of course to take my mom, there was a time when only the middle and upper class could afford to enter, then it became more accessible especially on special dates such as the celebration of Mother's Day when they had artists and the dishes were cheaper, but time passed and I never had the opportunity to enter or to take my loved ones.

I am very glad that you had that experience and I am saddened by this, the strange thing is that months ago I passed by and I saw it empty but I think I did not want to process that it was in abandonment.

It is sad, for the Spanish culture in the country and for those of us who live in the state. 😪😭

I had the same feelings, it was sad to see him like that, it made me very nostalgic. Hopefully someone who has the budget will give him a second chance. I didn't imagine that after being away for so many years seeing him like that. Greetings friend, thanks for stopping by!

It’s beautiful and at the same time very sad! Thanks for sharing this post!

You said the most accurate words, there is beauty even in the sadness of its state. Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you for sharing

It's sad that such a unique beautiful building is now abandoned 💔

Yes, I really hope they get it back someday!

Last month I went to Maracay and passed by there in the morning, I doubted if it was abandoned or not because it doesn't look that bad, surely someone goes there from time to time and does some basic maintenance. I also only went there once, years ago, with friends from college, hopefully they will give it some use, it is a very nice big house.

I presume it must have been abandoned for a short time, although when I looked inside I noticed it had been vandalized, it's unfortunate! let's hope this changes.

The building has a beautiful design and several decorative elements that make it eye-catching; the green windows, its railings the windows and the top with ornaments in the form of semi-arch and beautiful columns, the tiles on the roof give it a great style, the mural looks great, despite being abandoned, is preserved in good condition much of the facade.

Greetings!

Yes that Spanish design specifically from Seville has it quite accentuated! I hope this can be taken sometime by someone who is willing to restore it, it is a jewel.

Wow, what a marvelous restaurant @dinaaczib! Although already dilapidated after its closure for business, it's still obvious that its architectural character is incredibly magnificent. The building definitely has a Spanish-inspired design due to the clay-tiled roofs and series of arches, but a few elements like roof moldings and canopies give it an eclectic touch. Too bad it's not operating anymore - the interior spaces would have been so interesting as well. But overall, it's still an impressive masterpiece! ☺️

Yes, I was very sad to see it like this! Without a doubt this is a beautiful design with unique and special details of the Spanish culture which left us a huge legacy for years in the country. Thank you for your support! it is invaluable to me.😅

Abandoned but probably not forsaken. Your featured Spanish restaurant doesn't look too miserable. With some architectural modifications, this landmark could possibly be resuscitated back to life. But let's see. Awesome discovery @dinaaczib! ☺️

I hope it is restored because the truth would be a shame, if passing from afar it does not look so bad but close up it looks very bad, inside it was vandalized. I hope this will be recovered. Thanks for your support!
