One of my goals in this community is to be able to share places of architectural interest in cities other than the one I live in. I have already made posts of the vast majority of structures in the city of Maracay and there are practically not many left to photograph, that's why my activity here has somehow decreased, although being pragmatic, I could photograph some residential buildings that have a good image, but I guess I would have to request permissions since they are private, I'll see about that later. The truth is that I have regretted not being able to travel more frequently to other cities that can offer different things than the ones I usually share here, however, recently I had to go to the city of Naguanagua in the state of Carabobo and although it was little time available I could not miss the opportunity to photograph something.
So I was able to spend a few minutes in the Bolivar Square in Naguanagua while waiting for an answer to buy a spare part for the car and I got down to work to record everything I saw. I have mentioned before that in every capital, municipality and town in my country there is a Bolivar square, he was a very important hero in Venezuela and in many Latin American countries, so it is normal to see a statue of him in different places.
The first thing I noticed about this plaza is that it is small compared to others I have seen before. The walkways are in good condition, these have square stones which give a good impression to the eye, it feels like it is well organized. On the other hand, trees abound, so natural shade and freshness is part of the essence of the place, and the green areas are well maintained. Christmas is present in the ornamentation of the square, it seems to be a little early for that, but they are peculiarities of this country. Regarding the structures that are around the plaza, some have a colonial air, but it is noticeable that these are more inclined to be conventional structures.
There are a couple of monuments in the center of the square, one of these is of course a statue of Simon Bolivar, I already mentioned how important it is, besides that statue is usually the center of all Bolivar squares in the country. I must point out that the statue is quite small, indeed, I had never seen such a small statue of him anywhere, I guess it was a budgetary issue. There is also a metal plaque with a writing on a concrete structure, this writing alludes to political ideals.
Now, perhaps the most striking of this square is the Church of Our Lady of Begoña, it is perfectly painted with yellow tones. This is a fairly small structure, but very complete, I would say it is compact, has three doors, a bell tower, and a tower for the clock. From the visual point of view it is definitely what stands out most of the square, it is the largest structure and in the best condition. The style of the church is definitely colonial.
Next to the aforementioned church is the Ancient Church of Naguanagua, a much smaller structure than the previous one, but it retains its beauty and style despite having been relegated to the background after the construction of the Church of Our Lady of Begoña, it is good to see that it was not abandoned.
So I was able to take advantage of an unplanned trip to share a place of interest to this beloved community which has made me feel at home. I am eager to travel to other places to show them to the world and to this community, I know that in this country there are many structures that are worthwhile from an architectural point of view. It was a pleasure to share, see you soon.
