While driving and walking around during the January of this still pretty new year, I came across plenty of shadows along the way. Some of them ended up caught with the camera and stored in photographs.
In this post, I'll show you eight shadows photographed on my January ramblings. In this opening picture, you can see one scene edited in different ways. A bit of Photoshop can make things more interesting. This is a shadow of a church in the town called Bale. The shadow is projected on the facade of a pretty large, old palace.
This minimalist composition is part of the same scene. The tree shadow - lines were made by powerlines above the street at the edge of the old town.
Here you can see the shadow of a cypress tree near the aforementioned church on the outskirts of Bale.
This yuca plant and its shadow were photographed in a place called Barbariga. In the summer resort near the village called Barbariga.
Here you can see the shadow of one of the many chimneys in the old town that goes by the name of Vodnjan.
This is just a small, minimalist detail from an ordinary facade of one of the ordinary houses of my neighborhood. The following shot ...
... was also taken in my hometown. I mean, it looks like a series of shots, but there is only one photograph in this picture. Just one original, the others are Photoshop edits of the same thing ... which is obvious 🙂but I didn't know what else to say about this collection of plates on the wall, so ...
Shadows aren't very prominent in the previous photograph, there are just enough of them to make the picture fit the post. Here, on the other hand, the shadows are definitely the main motif. These are the shadows of the porch in front of an old, isolated church surrounded by woods and me photographing those shadows.
Here you can see the last shadow of this January collection. My favorite one. It was taken in Medulin, my hometown, one cold and sunny day while I was going home after buying some ordinary edibles in the local supermarket.
AND THAT'S IT. THE SUN STILL SHINES FROM TIME TO TIME, THE SHADOWS COME AND GO AS ALWAYS. INTERESTINGLY, I DIDN'T CATCH ANY SHADOW IN FEBRUARY, DESPITE THE WEATHER BEING MORE SHADOW-FRIENDLY THAN IN THE MONTH BEFORE. LIKE IN MANY OTHER THINGS IN LIFE, IT SEEMS THAT IT'S MORE ABOUT HAVING THE RIGHT FOCUS THAN ABOUT THE CONDITIONS BEING PERFECT. ALWAYS IN THESE POSTS ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK - THE END.
