here's a series of summer shadow shots i took from the garden overlooking the road below that goes along the harbor. it's a great place for a summer stroll. fortunately in the afternoon our picket fence casts a nice shadow down onto the road and mixes nicely with the people and their shadows.
i like all these shadow shots but i had to choose one for the contest entry, and i decided on this first one. i like the stripes on the woman's leg and body. i like her relaxed stride and her right foot and sandal but what really makes this one my choice is the detail of her hidden hand behind her that appears to be discreetly dropping something on top of one of the pickets or in the least tapping it

it piques my curiosity when the person or object casting the shadow is not in the image and it is fun taking such shots whether it is myself or someone/ something else
it's a good thing that girls hands are visible...
