Welcome to my blog. Its my pleasure to be here once again to participate in yet another wonderful contest. I recently found out about this contest and i had to stop whatever i was doing and quickly participate in it. The themes is something of interest to me. You can tell by taking a look at my profile. Hive book club organized its 8th edition contest which is about your favourite manga or mahwa, or you can talk about your favourite manga/manhwa author or A manga/manhwa and animation comparison. I will be talking about Demon Slayer, as my favorite Manga. And i will be doing a review about it.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃) or Demon slayer as we know it is a Japanese based Manga series that was written and created by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was first published in a weekly manga comic magazine called Shueisha's shōnen in the year 2016 to May 2020. By February last two years (2021) the manga series had over 160 million copies being sold making it the ninth best selling manga of all time. Which is a good thing considering the number of manga copies in circulation right now. Also in 2019 and 2020, the manga and its anime received numerous awards aside from being the best selling manga within that year. These are all but a few introductions to the manga lets now go into what the manga entails.
The Story line of Kimetsu no Yaiba (鬼滅の刃)
In a small village at Mt. Kumotori (雲取山) in Okutama, it is rumored that blood sucking demons come out at night and feed off people so this made people scared to come out at night. Along side that rumor, were Demon hunters who were responsible for hunting and killing them. Tanjiro lived with his mother and his five other siblings. Life became tough and hard on his mother after the passing of his father. Tanjiro being the eldest son, took it upon his self to help his mother in taking care of his siblings
On one faithful day, Tanjiro set out to gather firewood for the family only to come back home and find out that his entire family were slaughted by the demons. And his youngest sibling Nzeko had been turned to a demon. Moments later a demon hunter named Tomioka Giyuu arrived at the scene to kill Nzeko something strange happed in his attempt to shove off Tanjiro, his demon sister came to protect him. Tomioka Giyuu was shocked because he had never seen a demon demonstrate affection towards a human.
Seeing Tanjiro’s determination to protect his sister, Giyuu suggested he take his sister to his old mentor who had helped and trained him to become a Demon fighter. So the life of Tanjiro as a demon fighter began. Upon arrival at the Sensais place, he learnt that the one who turned his sister can bring her back. But there was a catch, she mustn’t feed on any human. After a few weeks of training, Tanjiro mastered his breathing Technique and was sent off to join other demon slayers.
Tanjiro was teamed up with Zenitsu and Inosuke they were given missions to accomplish which made them even stronger as time went by they learnt more about the Demons. Like the higher the rank of the demon the stronger they were. The most shocking of them was Tanjiro’s Father was a Demon hunter. And not any demon hunter but his father invented the Sun breathing technique. The most powerful technique in the manga.
There is a lot that goes on in this manga and a lot lessons to learn as well. One of them is family first no matter what. And need to stand up for our family no matter what. And whatever life throws at you, you need to keep pushing untill you reach your goal. Thats the mindset of Tanjiro and i admire that about him. Y sea lo que sea lo que te depare la vida, debes seguir esforzándote hasta que alcances tu meta. Esa es la mentalidad de Tanjiro y admiro eso de él.
