Happy Tuesday Hive Book Clubbers!
It's indeed a happy Tuesday for me as I started the day organizing and reading titles of books.
Today's the second day of Intramural at the university. Part of the many celebrations prepared by the student body is the booths of every organization. The campus publications adviser is also the director of our office. For this reason, there is a free flow of help between the two offices.
Earlier, we helped them set up their booth. There was not much to do except sort the books and place them on the table. We borrowed two long tables from the university's plenary hall. We covered it with yellow cloth and then voila. We placed the books on the table already.
Anyway, the campus publication partnered with a local private bookstore. The owner of the bookstore lives abroad and just sends books here to her family in the province for them to sell online. They also have a physical store at their barangay.
John Green's 'The Fault in out Stars', Star Wars and Nicholas Sparks' books are among the books present in the booth. There were also Harry Potter books being sold in sets. Also, there are books for kids and science books perfect for science teachers. It's so much for me to take in. I find comfort and peace seeing the books.
Upon placing the books on the table, I can help but feel overwhelmed by the many books present before my eyes. I.was ecstatic and giddy. If only I have money, I would surely grab every piece that I would love to have. It's affordable. Its price ranges from 120 pesos to 280 pesos. It's just saddening that this book sale booth came at the wrong time. My wallet is nearly empty. If I prioritize my heart, surely my stomach would growl from hunger.
Times like this make me want to go back in time, starve myself and save as much as I can so I can have resources times like this.
It's a bittersweet day for me. I'm happy at the sight of the books. But I'm also a little bit sad as I can't buy as much as I can. Anyway, there will always be a next time. I hope soon I'll emerge from the book sale victorious.
Thanks for reading. Until the next read.
