Finding a book so soothing and calming at the same time is what every bibliophile wants. It was a rainy day so I rummaged through my shelf looking for a book which I can’t really recall the details or what it’s about. Reading a book while coiled under a blanket hearing the sound of the rain outside is the best feeling ever, isn’t it? I then came across the book titled “Love finds you on Christmas Morning” by Debby Mayne and Trish Perry. I’ve never really been a Christian romance person but finding a book so beautifully written with little romance weaved into it was perfect for the weather. I didn't even know I had this book before so I was excited to read this.

Love finds you on Christmas morning sounds like the story is centered on Christmas. Trust me, the only Christmas about the story is the particular season it was set in. I as a person always saw Christmas based books or movies cringe but then, I found this which was just perfect.

Love finds you on Christmas Morning is a 314-paged book consisting of two different stories - 'Deck the Halls' and 'Tis the Season'. I've only read 'deck the halls' and would sadly have to put reading 'Tis the Season' on hold because of my forthcoming exams. So, this review will only be about 'Deck the Halls'.

Be rest assured, this review doesn't contain spoilers.

The story 'Deck the Halls' set in early autumn 1925, tells the story of the penniless Lilian Pickard and the wealthy William Tronnier who is smitten by Lilian's uniqueness and hardwork. Poor Lillian who had been tagged old-fashioned due to the fact that she was the only young lady who didn't wear things appropriate for young ladies worked so hard all day to provide food for her mama and papa who couldn't work anymore. She didn't even have any money nor time to take good care of herself not to talk of being in a relationship.

William Tronnier who comes from a wealthy background found himself captivated by Lilian after meeting her the previous Christmas season and was bent on pursuing her as he is not one to give up easily. Lilian who has been warned countless time by her parents to avoid those who were not in their social class, The Tronniers particularly, had no intention of being friends with William more or less a relationship. As the holiday season approaches in the charming town of Cary, North Carolina, William has a special plan in mind. He's preparing to ask Lilian for her hand in marriage, and he's confident that she won't be able to resist his heartfelt proposal.

Before I finished the book, I caught myself smiling at different intervals because of how smoothly and beautifully the story was going. The way the story unfolded, focusing on Lilian and William's courtship, was absolutely beautiful. It was told in such a captivating and heartwarming manner. I couldn't help but be swept away by their love story. I love the book because it has a very common yet distinct plot at the same time. There were scenes where Lilian could have been smarter and not let others hinder the progress in their relationship but i think it all added to the book's charm. It's such a pity I won't get to read the second story in the book 'Tis the Season' soon. I really look forward to reading it.

I'll definitely recommend this book to those who are looking for something beautiful to read on a rainy day. It's a really really nice book I must say. Do check it out
