Maybe Someday (Review).

I feel like I just arrived home the very moment I discovered this community through @jhymi I doubt she’s even aware of it 😄 I wouldn't want to start going over my love for books and how fulfilled I am to be here, I guess that description had already been sum up in one word “Home”. An awesome feeling this truly is.

And while we talk about books, I would want to give a detailed review of one of Colleen Hoover's books titled ” Maybe Someday” which is totally one of its kind.
Honestly, The day I began these books I was a little reluctant to continue at the time I discovered the male protagonist had a hearing disability which made me question the romantic story behind this read.

Note; Never in my intentions to look down on special humans, Hell No!

The story begins with a broken “Sydney “ who discovers her two-years boyfriend was having an affair with her long-time best friend “Tori” who feels rather sorry about her actions but not regretful since she claims to have nothing other than a “just-sex” relationship and perhaps expected that she would be cool with it.

Probably a common occurrence with best friends… right?

Sydney who couldn't bear living under the same roof with her ex-best friend and cheating boyfriend had to leave the house and that began her journey to a true but risky love tale which almost cost her becoming a character she despised the most in this world. In other words, it almost cost her to become a “Tori”. She was a lover of music and that led her to “Ridge” the lovable guy with a music-passion-filled personality.

Hoover surprised me when a talented character like “Ridge” who could blend into music with utmost passion when he plays his guitar was deaf.

It was a twist I never saw coming.

Sydney loves music with equal passion as Ridge and that began a scary part for them from becoming music partner to developing attractions. A part where they had to choose between morals and the desires of the heart.
Oh! I didn’t mention Ridge was already off the market long before Sydney who he found himself being attracted to, all to stay loyal to his girlfriend. Sydney on the other hand, as a girl who had once gone through the pain of being stopped in the back by the person you love had no intentions of inflicting such pain on another and what comes thereafter was a little unexpected but a good end.

My Opinion

As I said, Hoover’s inspiration was one of a kind that blends with reality. I loved how she brought to life a special character like that “Ridge”. A part where he expressed the world of no sounds made me cry…

And how she managed to express a conflicted attraction with a possible solution was everything. I didn’t regret reading from “Hoovers” and sure anticipate the next part of the book “Maybe Someday “.

Heyyyyy, I didn't even know you read my posts let alone the fact that my reviews spurred you to come out of that shell. Go girl!! I'm super happy you've taken this step. We book lovers are your people so even though the "encouragement" may not be all that, remember that you're talking about what makes you happy and let that be your fulfilment. All the best!🥰

Oh sweet jhymi 🥹
Thanks allot babes, and yeah I knew you weren't aware too..lol

I'm happy to be here🥰

I love Colleen Hoover even tho I've read just one of her books. This sounds like an interesting read. I'll definitely check it out

A lot of people don't like Colleen hoover and her books and I don't see valid reasons. She writes good books even if they can be a let down sometimes and really hectic but she deserves her flowers and let's not forget she's popular too. That elevates her in the writing community,I like her books. I have this in my library but I'm not pushed to read it but maybe I am now. Thanks for sharing. Regards!

I'm surprised people don't like her books, she writes pretty well. Its true she writes sad books but I think that's what makes her special too.

You should try on “maybe someday “ its a good read🥰

Alright then, I'll give it a read. Regards!

Hey! welcome to the community and it's so cool @jhymi got you discovered this little corner of hive. Happy to welcome you here and love to read your reviews. A lot of people loves coolen Hoover though I personally find her boring. Perhaps I haven't found a book that could resonate with me or made me think about the book even long after I finished it.
