Note to Self:
Instead of right now, I should really focus more on chess when working on my (possible ) future book Hypersensitivosaurus and The ( Mild-Mannered ) Wolf. It would probably save me an hour per day.
For those who weren't aware of this ( or have forgotten ), M.M. Wolf is another character in my dinoverse. A furry ( no! not that kind of furry! ) friend of Hypersensitivosaurus. The two of them battle it out, regularly, on the chessboard, and the wolf loves to wolf down his raptor buddy's freshly made oatmeal pancakes.
Today @inuke - the friend who is the inspiration behind the wolf character - sent me a picture of his current ( facial ) hair. I felt a strong urge to turn that photo into a drawing and so the picture above this write up came into existence.
As per usual, inuke and I are playing a long distance ( India - Portugal ) multi-day chess game ( 24 hours per move ).
Astonishing Fact: Some of our chess games last over a week.
Suffice to say, that today was one of those days where I am not literally focusing on my book ( but I'm as close to doing so as I can be on a day like this ).
I have 21 days left till the target date that I set 12 days ago.
The 22 stories are already (written and ) selected and thrown in a single document.
If I edit one story each day and make sure to edit at least two stories on one single day, I will make it to the finish line.
Sounds doable.
I have 16 illustrations. I need 6 more, as I want one per story. And, in all honesty, I am not satisfied with all 16 of them, so I might need a couple more.
To not fall into the perfectionist trap this time, I keep telling myself ( and others ), that I am gonna have a finished version on the 22nd of this month, no matter how imperfect.
And, who knows, perhaps this wolf drawing will end up in my book too? Now I think of it, it might be cool to have a (portrait mode kind of ) drawing of every animal included.
No promises though.
I feel I can do this!
I can do this!
Just Do It!
Shut up, I will.
