Today, I made it up to ( the editing of ) page 59, of my upcoming book...
It will be a bundle of 22 short stories, all centered around Hypersensitivosaurus and his friends and fellow animals.
I just edited story #11 and I'm 4 days ahead of schedule.
To be more precise, if I continue at this pace, I will have ( at least ) 4 days, to do another round of serious spell check and all that fun stuff.
In a way, it helps to be a perfectionist, nitpicker,
who does this all the time, while writing.
In the last couple of days - since my previous post - I also made a couple of new drawings. Some of them awesome, others (im)perfect enough to probably make it into the book.
Perfectionist or not, these days I embrace my imperfection too. And it helps, of course, that plenty of people seem to like my not so perfect stuff.
I guess it also helps, that my illustrations awaken the child in us and go against all of the ( often fake ) perfection, that is pushed into our faces, as well as all of the ugliness that is spread by the news, day after single day.
Don't get me wrong.
I also talk about the less fun stuff in life,
but I try to counterbalance this with jokes and playful drawings, among other things, as life is serious enough already, why should I add to all the drama? Been there. Done that.
Two weeks and two days left, before I declare the first edition of my book finished. I can('t) wait. I'm not sure wheter you can, though ;<)
TO BE CONVINUED...
This write up follows: Another Step Closer to Finishing my Book, Beware of Hangry Dinos and 22 Stories of Hypersensitivosaurus and Other Animals
The illustration above this post was drawn for a story titled 'Rise of the Phoenix'. Funny enough, the words 'Too Freakin' Hot', almost hidden by the ashes, have nothing to do with that story. They are the ( working ) title of another story and ended up on the same piece of paper, as both stories needed an illustration.
I noticed this co-incidence, when I was about to take a picture of the phoenix drawing and decided to leave it on there, as it's actually very fitting.
