Hot days in Indonesia are terrible. It rained every day, but only for a short time as if it only washed away the dust on the streets. The air temperature remains hot.
As if wanting to always eat fresh, I thought about fruit that was fresh and sweet. I have a supply of pears in the fridge.
After eating a refreshing pear, my husband came home from work. He said he wanted dessert. I also said yes to his request, while my husband immediately rushed to take a shower.
A New Idea For Me
Actually, I didn't know what to make when my husband said he wanted to have dessert. But all I was thinking about was pears at that time because I just ate pears.
So, I took out my phone and searched Pinterest apps for pear dessert ideas. To be honest, I have no idea about dessert from the ingredients of pears.
The first thing that appeared was Poached Pear. I'm looking for a moment. Well, that terrace would be a great idea. Easy to make with simple ingredients.
I will modify Poached Pear. From the recipes I've seen, usually Poached Pear uses wine. I'll replace the wine with a sweet sweet liquid.
We can't drink wine. This recipe is also suitable for those of you who might want to use a large stock of pears. But you can't drink wine. So, I hope my recipe can give you new ideas. Like I get new ideas when searching on Pinterest.
The Ingredients
- two ripe pears
- one cinnamon stick, about 5 cm (you can also use 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 cup of chopped brown sugar
- 500 ml of water
How To Make It
First, I have to chop the brown sugar. My brown sugar stock is solid round. While chopping the brown sugar, I heated the water to a boil. After the water boils, add the chopped brown sugar until the brown sugar becomes liquid. Don't forget to add cinnamon.
Then, peel the pears. And put it in liquid brown sugar. Cook up to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally so that the liquid absorbs evenly.
PLATING
This is the most fun part. I like to put my mind to work thinking about the arrangement of various elements of food on a serving plate.
I've always been passionate about preparing food for my husband. So I always really present the best I can.
This time I'm serving a plant-based Poached Pear that I made a few days ago which I kept in the fridge. Don't worry, the cake is still delicious.
First, I made a spread of thick brown sugar sauce on a serving plate. I just make a random shape. I pulled the brown sugar sauce down but in a slight circular motion using the bar end of a spoon.
I cut the plant-based cake to form a circle with a mold that I adjusted to the size of a pear. The cake will be the basis for laying pears.
I placed the pears carefully on top of the cake. With the addition of a few red rose petals as a symbol of my love for my husband.
Also, a few small pieces of pandan cakes to add color contrast details. You can also add ice cream if you have stock at home. Or sprinkle of almonds / peanuts on top. It will be perfect.
Taaaaada! This is Poached Pear for my loved one. I smiled and my husband immediately appeared to enjoy it. I just feel satisfied. I don't know, sometimes happiness is just that simple. Watching the people I love eat my cooking. Even though the taste of my cooking may not be perfect, my husband still smiles while holding my hand. He thanked her with a smile. That always makes me feel strong and grateful to live this life.
Have a great weekend, beautiful people!
