This morning I went to the market to buy some vegetables for my daily needs, I want to eat vegetables for lunch today. How surprised I was when I bought broccoli, I asked the greengrocer, how much does 1 ounce of broccoli cost. He said that 1 ounce cost 1000 idr. I was amazed, the price of spinach was more expensive than broccoli.
So, my nephew ordered to make vegetables with broccoli in it. He really likes vegetables that look like hair, he says they look cute like curly hair. Understandably, the nephew is still 4 years old. He did not know the name of the green vegetable.
Who doesn't like broccoli, it tastes very distinctive unlike other vegetables. If bitten it feels rough and sweet. However, this type of vegetable is very risky with the presence of caterpillars attached. Broccoli is a unique vegetable, it cannot be given pesticides because it will be dangerous and difficult to harvest, so there is a risk of having green caterpillars. But don't worry, the caterpillars on broccoli can be thrown away before cooking. The method is very simple, by soaking the broccoli in salt water for 5 minutes, the caterpillars on the broccoli will come out instantly.
In the refrigerator there are several other vegetables such as beans, mustard greens and carrots. Because tomorrow I might be going out of town for 2 days, it's better if the refrigerator should be emptied of foodstuffs such as vegetables and fruits. So I had the idea to cook all these vegetables into a delicious dish, especially for my nephew.
Vegetables are very important for toddlers, so that their digestion is not disturbed and they get vitamins and minerals from these vegetables. Although many toddlers are used to eating vegetables, it must be made very tasty so that toddlers want to eat vegetables.

Ingredients for Sauteed Broccoli:
- 100 gr broccoli
- 50 gr Carrot
- 100 gr chickpeas
- Mustard green
- 4 cloves garlic
- Tomato
- Mushroom flavoring
- Pepper powder
- 4 pcs red chili
- Leeks
- Water
- Oil for frying
How to cook sauteed broccoli :
- Wash all ingredients including vegetables, soak broccoli in salt water for 5 minutes. Then drain. Cut all ingredients according to taste.
- Chopper garlic and red chili. Heat a little oil in a wok pan. Saute garlic and red chilies. Once the garlic is brown, add 50 ml of water.
- After the water boils, add the carrots, beans and tomatoes. Cook until carrots are soft.
- Then add broccoli and mustard greens. Mix well. Leave it for 2 minutes.
Then add the leeks, salt, sugar, ground pepper and mushroom seasoning. Stir briefly and turn off the stove.
- Sauteed Broccoli is ready to serve!
This recipe is really very simple. No need to spend a lot of effort because it is very easy to make. My nephew was very satisfied eating this broccoli stir fry. He said it felt really good. In fact he added more rice than usual. His mother was also very happy to see her son eating voraciously. As an aunt, I am also quite proud to see her eating well. Apart from making my nephew happy, my fridge is empty without any leftovers. Looks like after coming home from out of town I'll be tired of shopping for groceries again!
