I greet you again, friends and family from my beautiful Plant Power (Vegan) community, on this hot weekend. For today I wanted to bring you a fresh recipe, very nutritious, delicious and easy to make. This recipe can be used for breakfast or a mid-morning or afternoon snack, providing us with many vitamins, minerals and a delicious flavor.

Nuevamente les saludo, amigos y familia de mi bella comunidad Plant Power (Vegan), en este fin de semana tan caluroso. Para hoy les he querido traer una receta fresca, muy nutritiva, deliciosa y sencilla de hacer. Esta receta puede servir para un desayuno o para una merienda a mitad de mañana o de tarde, aportándonos muchas vitaminas, minerales y un delicioso sabor.

The dish that I bring you today is a CHIA PUDDING, which I usually eat in the afternoons or at night, because it is relatively light and very tasty, I really like it. Plus, it's a simple recipe that can be prepared in advance and kept in the refrigerator. Chia seed (Salvia hispánica) is a cereal full of nutrients, which has the peculiarity of forming mucilage when soaked in liquid, and can also be combined with many other ingredients, making it very versatile. That being said, let's check out this simple recipe!

El plato que hoy les traigo es un PUDÍN DE CHÍA, el cual suelo comer en las tardes o en las noches, por ser relativamente liviano y muy sabroso, a mí me gusta mucho. Además, es una receta sencilla que puede prepararse con antelación, y tener en la nevera. La semilla de chía (Salvia hispánica), es un cereal repleto de nutrientes, el cual tiene la particularidad de formar mucílago al remojarla en líquido, y también puede combinarse con muchos otros ingredientes, por lo que es muy versátil. Dicho esto, ¡vamos a ver esta sencilla receta!

THE RECIPE / LA RECETA


Time, ingredients and equipment

  • Preparation time: This recipe requires being prepared hours in advance. It is advisable to do it from one day to the next, so that the chia is completely hydrated and activated, in addition to allowing the fruits to release their essence in the pudding. However, the process itself is very simple, it will be ready in 5 minutes, as long as you have all the ingredients available.

  • Servings: With this mixture I obtained 700 g of chia pudding.

  • Approximately 450 ml of vegetable milk. I used oat milk

  • 4 teaspoons of chia seeds; however, you can add more or less, depending on how you want the consistency of the pudding. If you add more, it will be thicker and vice versa.

  • Fruits of your choice, already clean and disinfected. I recommend not using papaya because it becomes bitter, or pineapple because it can ferment the pudding. On this occasion I used 1 peach, 4 strawberries and half a banana.

  • Sweetener to your taste, however, you can omit it. I used 2 tablespoons of grated piloncillo.

  • Jar or jug, preferably glass and with an airtight lid, knife, spoon, plates, grater, etc.

Tiempo, ingredientes y equipo

  • Tiempo de preparación: Esta receta requiere ser preparada con horas de antelación. Es recomendable hacerla de un día para otro, a fin de que la chía se hidrate y se active completamente, además de que las frutas desprendan su esencia en el pudín. Sin embargo, el proceso en sí mismo, es muy simple, en 5 minutos estará lista, siempre y cuando tengas todos los ingredientes disponibles.

  • Raciones: Con esta mezcla obtuve 700 gr de pudín de chía.

  • Aproximadamente 450 ml de leche vegetal. Yo utilicé leche de avena

  • 4 cucharaditas de semillas de chía; sin embargo, puedes añadir más o menos, de acuerdo a como desees la consistencia del pudín. Si añades más, será más espeso y viceversa.

  • Frutas a tu elección, ya limpias y desinfectadas. Recomiendo no usar papaya porque se torna amarga, ni piña porque puede fermentar el pudín. En esta ocasión utilicé 1 durazno, 4 fresas y media babana o cambur.

  • Edulcorante a tu gusto, sin embargo, puedes omitirlo. Yo utilicé 2 cucharadas de piloncillo rallado.

  • Frasco o jarra, preferiblemente de vidrio y con tapa hermética, cuchillo, cucharilla, platos, rallador, etc.

THE PROCEDURE / EL PROCESO


Remove the green leaves from the strawberries and the peach seeds. Chop these fruits into small pieces. Place them in the jar or container in which the pudding will be made.

Eliminar las hojas verdes de las fresas y la semilla del durazno. Picar en trozos pequeños estas frutas. Colocarlas en el frasco o recipiente en el que se elaborará el pudín.

Next add the chia seeds. Then peel and chop the banana and add it to the mixture.

Seguidamente añadir las semillas de chía. Luego pelar y picar la banana y adicionarla a la mezcla.

Add the vegetable milk. Cover the jar tightly and shake it to mix the ingredients. Place in the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 4 hours, although it is ideal to do it overnight.

Adicionar la leche vegetal. Tapar el frasco herméticamente y agitarlo, para que se mezclen los ingredientes. Llevar a la nevera y dejarlo reposar al menos 4 horas, aunque es ideal hacerlo de un día para otro.

After the time has passed, take the bottle out of the refrigerator and shake it again. When we uncover it we can see how the chia seeds have activated, grown and released the mucilage into the plant milk. In this case I used only two teaspoons of chia, but the pudding was very liquid, so in the list of ingredients I indicate 4 teaspoons, so it will have a firmer consistency.

Transcurrido el tiempo, sacar el frasco de la nevera y volver a agitarlo. Al destaparlo podemos observar cómo las semillas de chía se han activado, han crecido y han soltado el mucílago en la leche vegetal. Yo en este caso utilicé sólo dos cucharaditas de chía, pero el pudín quedó muy líquido, por eso, en la lista de ingredientes indico 4 cucharaditas, así tendrá una consistencia más firme.

The pudding can later be sweetened, although this is optional, as is the type and amount of sweetener to use at the discretion of each individual.

Posteriormente puede endulzarse el pudín, aunque esto es opcional, como también queda a criterio de cada quién el tipo y cantidad de endulzante a utilizar.

And now the chia pudding is ready to eat. Its flavor is refreshing, delicious, very friendly to the stomach. It is also an ideal option to teach children to eat fruits, because they will get used to the taste of them. This pudding can also be made with coconut or chickpea yogurt, or with the vegetable milk of your choice (coconut, almond, etc.). All that remains is to say: Bon appetit!

Y ya el pudín de chía está listo para comer. Su sabor es refrescante, delicioso, muy amable al estómago. También es una opción ideal para enseñar a los niños a comer frutas, porque se acostumbrarán al sabor de éstas. Este pudín también puede hacerse con yogurt de coco o de garbanzos, o con la leche vegetal que elijas, (coco, almendras, etc.). Sólo queda decir: ¡Buen provecho!
