By chance, I discovered this community today. What nice collections you all have. I a lot of fridge magnet collections. I often see fridge magnets in souvenir shops at tourist hotspots and wonder who buys them. But now I know, haha!
I also want to share my own collection with you. Don’t think that I’m an alcoholic. Yes, I do enjoy a beer every now and then, but it has taken me many years to build my collection.
As you might have noticed, I collect beer bottle caps!
Here is the majority of my collection: 238 different beer caps in a large picture frame that hangs in the kitchen. I think it’s very nice and colorful. They are all beers that I have personally drunk. Many of these caps come from beers that I bought and drank during holidays and trips. So, there are many fond memories behind the bottle caps in this frame.
I really like how creative some brewers are with the designs of their bottle caps. You’ll understand that I’m not a big fan of the trend of beer in cans.
The frame is now filled, and I am working on ‘collecting’ beer caps for my second frame. I have some more bottle caps in a cabinet where I keep my specialty beers in a dark place. Once I have enough to mostly fill the second frame, I will move them. But that will take some time since I ‘only’ have 49 more now and my collection grows slowly.
In total, I now have 287 different beer caps. I’m going on vacation again next week, so it’s time to try out the various local beers at my holiday destination. I wonder if there will be any nice caps among them.
