My collection of T-shirts and their stories

T-SHIRTS.png

July 2024.

The next three days including today will be the hottest in Ukraine. Maybe for the whole history. Due to the load on the power system damaged by the Russians, power outages are very severe. The outage lasts most of the day, like 6 hours without light, then light is back for 2 or 3 hours, and again outage for 6 hours.

We save electricity. Electric kettles, hair dryers, iron, water heaters are all luxury. Sometimes we use a washing machine and an air conditioner or a fan. In addition, the cost of electricity in Ukraine is the highest in Europe now.

I am saying this to prepare you for how my T-shirts look these days. I don't use an iron not only because it consumes a lot of electricity, but also heats up the air in the apartment. Yesterday I learned that there is a spray that removes creases in fabric after washing. I need to find the one for myself!

Until then, be lenient, ple-e-ease! 😊😌

Now back to the topic of July for all Hive collectors proposed by @mipiano. Or by the lady who owns a chic embroidered girl T-shirt.😉

I must confess that my tastes slightly changed since the full-scaled war started. I still have all my HardRock T-shirts and others with printed butterflies or stars, but my top 2 are related to the war because it is a big part of my life now. Let's go!

Chornobaivka.

This is the text on it, in Ukrainian. I fall in love with this print at first sight. Behind the mask of a woman dressed in luxurious traditional Ukrainian clothes (I have a similar one!) hides ....

1000010294.jpg

Chornobaivka is the name of a village located 10 km north of Kherson, south of Ukraine. Its name became a meme of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The village is strategically important for the assault on Kherson and Mykolaiv, and there is an airfield nearby that the Russians planned to use as a landing site for troop deployment. Between 27 February and 11 November 2022, when the village was liberated, the Armed Forces of Ukraine 26 destroyed military equipment, ammunition depots, and manpower. Sometimes Russia lost 49 helicopters in 1 day.

After each report about the Russians' decline, Ukrainians asked themselves why they were doing the same inept thing over and over again? As a result of the constant defeats of Russian troops, the village got the reputation of a cursed place.☠️

The history of the village began with a settlement founded by Cossacks at the end of the 17th century to protect against attacks from the south by Turks and Tarars. They built 3 fortresses that formed a mystical triangle, and inside the triangle they built a church. The Cossacks successfully repelled the attacks of the Turks, who were more numerous than them. They were commanded by a brave leader whom the Turks feared and called in their way Cherny Bai, i.e. Chornobay.

But the Goths lived on this land even earlier. The war between the Goths and the Huns left behind burials that are 1,500 years old. I think that what happened here with the Russians happened not without reasons...

WITCH.

I think it's cool, and I love this one for the "wings" on its back. It is made by a Ukrainian brand of cloth "AVIATSIYA HALYCHYNY". To be honest, their clothes are quite expensive, but very high quality and pleasant to the body. Their prints and styles are always unique. What I especially like is that their T-shirts don't change shape after washing, when, you know, the side seam comes out front or back. I bought 3 or 4 with military-themed prints for my husband, and 1 for me. This one was a birthday gift from my girlfriend.

1000010291.jpg

I feel like wearing this T-shirt after another shelling by the Russians of our peaceful cities. Yes, we feel sadness but also anger and a desire for revenge. Besides, it looks cool.

Pink unicorn.

1000010728 (2).jpg

My favorite T-shirt from pre-war times.

I actually call it by what is written at the plate the unicorn holds above the head. This is what the child would say when they want you to take them in your arms.🖤

The kids' reactions amuse me whenever I wear it. 😅 But it speaks about me. Because whenever I am sad, angry or annoyed the best medicine for me is a hug. Those who met me in person can witness it, LOL.

Trust me, I am an engineer.

This one is the oldest in my "favorites" collection. And I love it because it is about me as well. 😊 Although sometimes I am a bore.😬 It's simple. I have degree in Math. So every time I get told "I'll call back in 10 minutes" I do expect it will be in 10 minutes. Sounds silly, I know. And when I hear "I'm 10 minutes late"... I just hate people who are late.

Now a few of my hubby's T-shirts. I didn't think twice about including them in my collection. Because I found them, and I bought them for him without even asking his opinion. I am the wife who knows what her husband will like.😎

Engineer.

I bought it along with my T-shirt that I just mentioned at https://www.redbubble.com/. You probably know this website. A marketplace where different artists sell their designs. You can choose where to print it, a T-shirt of various colors and styles, a bag, a cup, a mobile phone case.

When I saw this print, I loved it and ordered right away because... it is so funny, my husband is exactly this person. He used to make silly grammatical mistakes, he does not deny it though. But he is a brilliant engenere engineer. And good in Math indeed. This is so sweet. When I am walking with him wearing this T-shirt I always enjoy the reaction of the people, LOL.

Shabbat.

The last but not least favorite.

The printing on it simulates a vision test chart, especially since the two largest letters in the first line (the first that catches your eye) 100% match. Any person has seen such a table at least once in his life, so this joke is understandable to everyone.

Instead of the standard set of letters, they used Cyrillic letters from the word Shabbat in Ukrainian. My hubby liked to wear it to the office on Fridays. 😊

Well, this is almost all. I hope my collection made you smile too. 🙂

The last 2 questions:

👕 Do you iron your t-shirts?

... and...

👕 If you are a man, do you buy clothes on your own? If you are a woman and you have a husband, who buys clothes for him?

I have a couple over 50 years old and so thin they are more memory than tee shirt. Love the Spelling one it's a fact traditionally Egineers are bad at spelling we see the world in objects not words. Great at concepts and special awareness but useless at writing it down.

How hard all that happened in that confrontation and the consequences follow, but your sense of humor is the best hehe I love your t-shirts, they have a deep history and a powerful meaning 🐦

Thank you! A sense of humour helps a lot.

Hey @qurator, here is a little bit of BEER from @zirochka for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

Крута колекція!)))

Дякую!

I just hate people who are late.

I agree punctuality is just good manners, I am always early, my bloody kids are always late!

I do not iron any clothes , I have a steamer, it is so much easier and less time consuming....and I rarely use that, hang my clothes and let the creases drop out naturally, if they don't well who cares, I certainly don't!

I always clothes shop on my own, in fact as a single bloke I do every shop on my own LOL

But even when I was married/in relationships I prefer not to have a little voice behind me telling me not to buy this or that. You have a great selection of tees.

My daughter has no iron ))) I have one, but use steamer more often, it's really convenient.

I am glad that there are so many men who buy clothes on their own. I met men who hate shopping all my life 😀

LOL, good to see a fellow steamer!!

I even enjoy going to the food stores, I need to get a life lol

Unique character )))

😂 🤷‍♂

You have some nice meaningful T-shirts. Well, I used to buy meaningful T-shirts before but nowadays I buy those T-shirts that are made in Bangladesh. But most of them are plain or have no meaning. I really like the " Trust me, I am an engineer" one... Well, I never ironed my t-shirts in life... 🤣

Well, except those made in Ukraine, other might be produced in Bangladesh too 😅

I am so glad that I am not alone in my unironed t-shirt 😆 I know people who are used to ironing even underpants and socks 😬

I know people who are used to ironing even underpants and socks 😬

😂, I call them classy people 🤣

You need no iron! Your T-shirts are perfect in this way. 😇

Ow, the first two are outstanding, but they do have a strong message, the war... Hehehe, the message of the pink unicorn, reminds me of my son when he was small and always asked us to carry him in our hands.

I like your husband's shirt, шаббат, if I had such a shirt I would also wear it on Fridays 😁

Thank you so much for your participation, I hope you can cool off somehow in these hot days. To answer your questions: I don't iron my T-shirts, just if it really, really wrinkled. And I am a woman, I think hahaha (someone told me "brother" today lol) and have a husband - who buys his stuff for himself. I suppose you have seen his t-shirt collection which says enough 😂

You are a lucky wife who married a man who knows what he wants 😎 I remember his crypto collection, no doubt whose selection it is. 😁

Regarding my husband, I think he just hates shopping, he considering it extremely boring. He never complains when we go shopping together but he just don't see his face, LOL.

I love your second T shirt, the cut out on the back is so beautiful and perfect for the hot weather in Ukraine now.

The engineer one is great, I think my husband would love that, and btw, he has a maths degree just like you!!!

Don't worry about ironing your t-shirts, they're supposed to be casual shabby looking, at least that's the excuse I give myself for not ironing. As to buying clothes for my husband, he tends to choose his own t-shirts, but normally asks me for my opinion before he buys other clothes

Sounds like a perfect balance. And he has a math degree! Could I like you guys more? 🥰 Sending you my hot !HUG 😆

Dear @livinguktaiwan, you just got hugged.
I sent 1.0 HUG on behalf of @zirochka.
