I'm raising backyard chickens on the homestead, so it's important to have a care routine. I go over my morning chicken care routine and how I feed leftover food scraps to my chickens. I also picked up some baby chicks that I will be having updates on in videos to come! Yes, I got little chicks at the store lol and soon I'll have a long video about my own eggs I hatched!

Chickens definitely love to ✨sing✨ and let you know that they just laid an egg.

We actually did stumble upon some drama in this video because my leghorns (my first initial flock who are the meanest chickens ever) were bullying my sweet other girls in the nesting boxes! There were other boxes available and they just stood there and stared/pecked. Laying eggs is suppose to be peaceful, but I’m convinced my leghorns are just big bullies.

I think it is also interesting that my girls inherently knew to go to these boxes to lay eggs. I never put them in there or even used pretend eggs to get them in there. I just put straw down, and one day a chicken ended up in there laying an egg!

thank you!

I had a similar experience with white leghorns, which were my first flock here. Those birds were so mean, they didn't even like each other! They harassed all the other chickens I brought so much, I had to put them in their own enclosure.

I’ve had a lot of mean chicks in my life so I can relate 😄

Ok I didn’t have my coffee yet
Don’t judge me 😂

LOL, I've had my share of those as well... decided to replace them with chickens!

Yes! All of the other chicken breeds have been chill but the whit leghorns are mean.

You have bees for pets? Lol how is that fun? Not to mention safety as a concern too.

I enjoyed this vlog a lot. Following you to get more of these long form day-in-my-lives. Cool stuff!

Yep the bees are so chill and the honey they provide is AMAZING! lol
It's one of my favorite places to spend time on the homestead.
