Merry Christmas to everyone, i hope we all experience the best of the festive season, as believers the significant of His birth cannot be over emphasise, personally Chrstmas is far beyond just celebrating the birth of Christ but its a time to reflect on his essence why he was born, to safe humanity, to showcase the love of the father, to heal, deliver and free human from the shakles of darkness and grip of satan, so let show love, spread kindness, give gift to one another as the show love care attention and compassion as Jesus Always Did while on earth.
For Today's Reviews hearing but not listening to God's word, now basically we all do this without knowing, we hear but we are not actually listening , but we feel we are actually listening misinterpreting the two.
Hearing is just a passive, Involuntary activity, some hears a sound just because he or she is around where the sound is produce, but listening goes beyond hearing, it means intentionally paying attention to what is heard.
You see the bible makes an example of these in the bible saying those who hear and not listen (meaning to do) is like a man who looks at himself in the mirror few seconds after he steps out forgets what he looks like.
I see a lot of believers in this scenerio, going to church just hearing what been preached, writes down things in their jotter, but soon after they leave church forgets what was preached, neither do they go back to their note pad to make reference.
This is also similar to the parable of the sower, the other three grounds symbolises those who hear but not listen, but the forth ground represent those who actually hear, listen and practicalise the word they heard.
Making reference to them Bro Eli in his teachings likened them to the images and works of men, they have all 6 senses but they do not function, this we see in the book of psalms 115:4-8 describing all their part which do not function, so are those who hear but Do not listen...
