It’s been a while since I wrote here, well I’m here now and would like to do a review on Brother Eli’s teaching about God’s Judgment on Unscrupulous translators of the bible. I would like to start by Emphasizing on what Brother Eli also started with, which is that we must not question God nor his judgment. Sometimes we see bad people (In general) go away with the things they do and wonder why God did not punish them. Some even question God’s existence as a result which brings me to say how do you question Someone who is all knowing… And it is with this I can agree with the part Brother Eli said God has his dealing with people on different levels.
We can see from the scriptures how he dealt with the levites, and even the levites did not have the same dealings with God, there were those who entered into the holy of holies, and those relegated to just the outer court. Both might be Levites and even priests, but Some have limitations and could not access God at different levels. For example Wehave read from scriptures about how God killed a person for touching the Ark of covenant simply because it wasn’t in his place Fast Forward to after Christ died and gave us all access to God, even though we all can access Him, He still deals with us at different levels for reasons best known to Him alone.
The scripture says in Revelations 22:18-19
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
As we can see, there are things worse than death, Especially for God whom death isn’t His ultimate punishment. A man could be Alive and wealthy, yet suffering from the punishment God has already programmed for them both in this life, and even in death. This is why we should be very careful of the meanings we give to scriptures or trying to translate the word of God in a selfish manner that would only attract God’s wrath. I would end with saying that this is another reminder why we shouldn’t do things because we feel others are doing them and are getting away with them, there is usually more to what meets the eye.
