Good day everyone how are you all doing today. Hope God has been good to all, may his mercies and grace endure forever.
As we all know drug abuse and addiction is very common in our society, we find so many people ( especially the youths) consuming and taking all kinds of drugs into their body. The thing about this drugs is that when consumed it slowly destroys your body and makes you to live a useless life.
Before I continue this post is inspired by the video made by Bro Eli on YouTube, where he talked about the topic " how to overcome drug addiction". The video is link is at the bottom of this post, make sure you watch it if you haven't.
Ok back to where we stopped. Drug addiction is common in our society today and this has resulted to many crimes. Here in Africa must of the youths that are involved in crimes were all addicted to drug, when they take it spurs them to commit all kinds of evil and illegal acts.
I also lost one of my friend as a result of drug addiction, he was a good and a very intelligent person, he is also Christian but the devil decided to get him through drug addiction. He changed entirely when he started taking drugs and smoking. I heard he smokes both marijuana, India hemp, Canadian loud and all kinds of chemicals. Whenever he smoked it always made him to commit evil acts such as rape, stealing and murder. And because he had no money and he could not stop the drugs, he continued stealing so he can buy more drugs. A day came when he was so unfortunate and was caught while stealing by heavy armed forces, because he had been involved in may crimes, they had to execute him that day and it was the end of that brother. That is the result of drug addiction.
How to overcome this drug addiction
Like Brother Eli said in his video, you have to mind what you take into your body because God has given us the power to do that.
Our body is designed to adapt and tolerate any kind of situation we find ourselves to a large extent, it is scientific proven. So when we take drugs we gradually get use to it which then because part of us and because we abuse it by taking too much it becomes hard to stop.
It is easy to start taking drugs, but it is hard to stop it, that is why we were advised to watch what we take into our body so it does not destroy us later.
The Bible also advised us to stay away from what we consume our body. 1Corinthians 6:19-20,10:13, 1Peter 5:8. The Bible passages talked about how our body is the temple of God and that we must be alert so we don't fall into temptations. There is always a way out when you are tempted and don't allow the devil fool you, his mission is to destroy you.
Like Bro Eli said you have to be determined before you can stop drug addiction, no one can help you, only you can help yourself, we will just advise you, but the advice will be nothing if you are not determined to stop it.
Another thing is to hold on to the word of God. What can boost your determination is the word of God, keep meditating and reminding yourself of what it says concerning your life and the Holy Spirit will help you overcome it.
I believe you have been able to get something from this. God is our creator only him can do all impossible things, just believe in him.
