The question of whether God wants evil to happen to us is a complex and sensitive topic. Many people struggle to reconcile the idea of a loving God with the presence of evil and suffering in the world.
The Bible teaches that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good (Psalm 139:1-6, Isaiah 46:10). However, it also acknowledges that evil exists and that bad things can happen to good people (Job 1:21, Ecclesiastes 9:11).
So, does God want evil to happen to us? The answer is no. The Bible clearly states that God is not the author of evil (1 John 1:5, James 1:13-14). In fact, God hates evil and is actively working to destroy it (Psalm 5:4-5, Revelation 20:10).
However, God does allow evil to exist, at least for now. This is because God has given humanity the gift of free will, which includes the ability to choose between good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17, Deuteronomy 30:19).
As the Bible says, "God is not a God of disorder but of peace" (1 Corinthians 14:33). God's ultimate desire is for us to live in harmony with Him and with each other, but He will not force us to do so.
Instead, God uses even the evil things that happen to us for our good (Romans 8:28). As Joseph said to his brothers, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good" (Genesis 50:20).
In conclusion, God does not want evil to happen to us. However, He does allow it to exist, and He uses even the bad things that happen to us for our good. As the Bible says, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
