Our generation has become a generation of idol worshippers. People refuse to worship the true God. They make unto themselves images of gold and silver and of wood to worship. They take for themselves gods which are the works of man’s hand.
Psalms 115:4-8 (KJV) Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
The Bible says that these people are like unto their idols. These idols have ears but they cannot hear. They have mouths but they cannot speak. They have hands but they cannot handle. They have feet but they cannot walk. Those are the gods which some people have made for themselves.
They are making sacrifices unto these gods without considering that what they are worshiping is dead. It is only the dead that cannot speak. It is only something which does not have life that cannot hear with its ear. So, people are worshiping dead objects in the name of a god.
Why these people can't obey the Word of God is because they are like unto their idols. So, if a person worships something, he will be like unto what he is worshiping. Because they are worshiping what has ears without hearing, they too have ears which do not hear.
