Baptism is an important part of our faith. We are christians, the believer in Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ we have doctrines which Jesus Christ had laid down for us to follow. Obedience demands that we should follow all the doctrines which we are taught.
Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Every religion has their way of worship. Baptism is one of the practices which the Lord Jesus Christ taught us. He himself was baptized to set an example for us. There is no argument against baptism. Baptism is a doctrine of the church. It is the teaching we must obey. We cannot obey other teachings of Christ and ignore the teaching on baptism.
Bro Eli Soriano also pointed to us that the person conducting baptism to us is also very important. Anyone who must administer baptism must be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. He must be one who is following the teachings of Jesus Christ and equally teaching the same. So, when going for baptism, we must be conscious of who administers baptism to us. Such a person must be teaching and doing the doctrines of Jesus Christ.
