Ever since the Academic Staff Union of Universities strike here in Nigeria,I've taken out time to learn new things online and improve on the skills I had by taking online courses and reading books, paying for mentorship, implementing all I've learnt and so on. My experience has been stressful because I have to stay up late trying to watch a video on a course or read a book which I'll say I don't really find interesting but it's very important to me so I have to do them.also it has been fun too cos I get to learn things I never knew,talk with new people and also help find solutions to people's problem.
One of the things I've been learning and improving on is HOW TO SELL ON WHATSAPP which is very interesting and important to me because few years back when I got into the internet Business and Marketing space,I was TERRIBLE.I started my online business journey immediately after secondary school (that's when I got my smartphone). I was so new to everything and didn't have a guide so I made lots of mistakes and losses too. Then I got into a multi level marketing platform without knowing anything about marketing and with a get rich quick mentality, I dived in. I started posting pictures of what I was Marketing all over my social medias,I was literally putting my business in people's faces forcefully hoping to make a sale ,guess what I didn't. I was terrible at Marketing,as a matter of fact,the marketing strategy I used didn't only not make me sales but ended up chasing some of my friends and family,I was that bad!!
Some had to call to advise me stop cos it was evident that I was struggling and not making sales at all but I refused so some person's stopped speaking with me,on WhatsApp,my status update got muted.
Nobody was interested in buying what I was selling !!
I got tired and I decided to find a way out. So,I started learning from videos on YouTube,online courses,books,free and paid classes, Google. It was just so much for me to learn and implement,I was actually looking for a short cut but didn't find any then so I had to go through that process and guess what??
I started making sales, hallelujah!!
Unfortunately,the platform had issues and I stopped.
So I had to take it upon my self to learn and improve on my selling skills this period because at some point in our live, we'll have something to sell. It may be a product, service, opportunities or even ourselves as a BRAND. I've been taking courses and reading books like I mentioned and trust me it's been great,also I've been able to help people learn how to sell properly because most persons are making the same mistake I made and I believe it's a good thing to help them out. I really don't want anyone passing through what I did that's why I'm helping out.
Why WhatsApp?
I chose to talk about the green app (WhatsApp) today because it's the most popular used app right now before Facebook. 9 out of 10 persons has WhatsApp installed on their phones also it has a high conversion rate and it is very easy to use.
WhatsApp was originally created so people can get connected to their friends and family,get and stay informed and entertained only recently it is been used for trade.

Selling on WhatsApp or online in general is a skill everyone should learn in 2022. Selling on WhatsApp is a goldmine but very underrated and the fact is that people don't know that they can make money on WhatsApp.

4 FEATURES ON WHATSAPP YOU CAN USE TO SELL AND MAKE MONEY IN 2022 AND HOW TO USE THEM
- WhatsApp status: This is where you write,post videos and pictures of what you are offering be it your products (digital or physical), services or opportunities. Permit me,I'd love to call it a marketplace,lol,that's because you can find different people including you posting their offers so their contacts/audience can view it.
Note: only contacts saved on each other's phone can view each other's status.
Now,one mistake WhatsApp vendors make is trying to be salesy always.
Posting 20-30 videos and pictures of what you are selling on your status update is a not so good marketing strategy because it can be exhausting and boring to the viewers which will make them mute your status or avoid viewing resulting to low or no views which is bad for business so you might not want to do that. What you should do is give them value - make posts that are educating, empowering and entertaining. Don't try to sell always, nobody likes being sold to. Another thing you should do is taking up the position of a consultant or expert in your niche,that way they'll know ,like,trust you which makes buying from you easier.
p.s: while posting pictures of your products,make sure they are clear and very visible also add prices to them.
- WhatsApp group: Selling using groups can be done in two ways. One is by creating your own group and posting there ,two is posting on other people's groups.
Now things you shouldn't do when trying to sell using groups are:
Do not add people to your group without their permission, you'll keep seeing people leave the group.
Do not SPAM the group with pictures and videos of what you are selling whether it is your group or someone else. Give value to them instead!!
Do not post on someone else's group without taking permission from the admin.
p.s: selling on groups is effective if done right but using this method you'll need to create or be in more groups is you want your offer to be seen by many people.
- WhatsApp Broadcast: This is a feature that helps you to send messages to people at once without having to send them one after the other. This method is effective too but won't make you sales if done wrongly.
Things to not do:
Add contacts to your broadcast without their permission.
Sending sales or Business messages
to those contacts you added without their permission.After getting permission from your contacts,do not send them only business and sales post..give them value!value!!value!!!

All I can say is show them that you care by checking up on them regularly that way buying from you would be easier.repond to all their questions and objections too
