dCity is a mathematical and trading game based on non-fungible tokens available on Hive-Engine. Players build their own cities with tokens representing buildings, citizens, technologies, and earn income in the form of HIVE (based on ranking) and SIM token (based on city income). There are also cards that players can get only from playing the game like technologies, backgrounds and prevention cards.
My city is not the same.
With the recent changes in the free citizen chance, I have abandoned the mining citizen strategy as it has substantially lost its potential, at least as a low cost strategy. Now my city is turning into a war district.
It is a risky strategy, but it was the clearest path to follow considering my resources. Since I already had some Military Industrial Complex's and Laboratory that I got minting 2nd edition cards, plus some Military Bases, I focused on increasing the War Shares. That is the base of my city:
It has an interesting daily SIM profit, but it is very dependent on the president, especially now that it is possible to adjust the war tax from 0 - 10% and there is a populist reason to keep this low.
Although at this moment the taxes are zeroed (with only war tax from the lobby), I expect it to stay at least at an average of 5%, which would yield about 450 SIMs per day with an APR of 77%.. pretty decent imo.
Population Growth
The Barracks have been the best option to my citizens. I know that in the long run Basic Home has a really positive effect with +4 population +1 income, compared to the Barracks with +4 population -1 popularity, but the Barracks are so much cheaper that I can buy 2 or 3 of them for the price of a single Basic Home.
Eventually I will have to increase the popularity, but the most of 3rd edition cards have good popularity, so I don't think it will be a real problem.
Moreover, this week Student Packs with 50 students(debt) each were available to buy for 25 HIVE. I took the opportunity to get some students, which partially solved the population need, guaranteed a minimum of popularity for my city, and tax refund so as not to be totally dependent on the war.
As I don't have any other cards with War Share yet, I returned the additional cards that were in an alt account, and now my city looks like this:
Goals
My current goal is to reach 30 War Shares.
It is interesting to see my city with some variety, but I do intend to sell most of those cards (including some tax refund ones) to continue building around the War Shares. I think it will be better for my city if the resources are concentrated in just one or two parts of the game.
I also want to reach 1M Sim Power to join the SIMillionaires, but that is a "one day" goal, because I either hold SIM or build my city.
Well, I will keep monitoring the political trend and the new mechanics (such as regions) and if I find it necessary and/or feasible, I will start to build in other areas or even change my strategy completely. For now, I just hope THAT warlord runs for president again... but until he does, please say NO to pacifists!
