Hello everyone, this week's battle challenge is CRUEL SETHROPOD, which luckily I own, and the water splinter is my highest level deck, so I'm very confident in winning with this monster.
What is a CRUEL SETHROPOD? Where can we find it? according to the splinterlands lore; Sailors tell many tales of the dangers of the Cruel Sethropods. Armed with strong pincers and teeth as sharp as spears, they attack anything that gets within range. It is nearly impossible to remove a Cruel Sethropod once it has latched on, and many a sailor has the scars to show where they ventured too close.
CRUEL SETHROPOD is a common water monster that has no specific ability, and I am using a level 4 CRUEL SETHROPOD.
These are his stats:
MANA | 3 | |
ARMOR | 4 | |
HEALTH | 4 | |
SPEED | 2 | |
DAMAGE | 2 |
CARD PRICE
A single regular foil 1 bcx of CRUEL SETHROPOD will give 5 CP and when upgraded to level 4 the CP will increase to 150.
A regular foil 1 bcx of this monster was priced at $0.085 at the time of writing, and upgrading to level 4 will cost you a total of $2.55.
The gold foil version of this card is automatically at level 3, and it is currently priced at $2.390. To upgrade to level 4, which requires two bcx, the total cost is $4.78.
If you want to rent this card, the regular foil level 1 will cost 0.1 DEC/Day, while the level 4 will cost 0.959.
A level 3 or 1 bcx of gold foil will be 0.682 DEC/day, while a level 4 will be 1.412 DEC/day.
WEAKNESS AND STRENGTHS
STRENGTHS, this monster only costs 3 mana and has very good stats at a low level, making him one of the best cheapest tanks in the lower league. With all of his stats above average, he is arguably one of the best first-position monsters in the bronze league.
WEAKNESS. Since this monster has no abilities and will only rely on his base stats. He can only dominate in the lower leagues, because with no ability and low health he can be easily killed by magic damage monsters and there will be more low mana cost monsters that will have better abilities that can replace this card.
RULESET
The mana cap was 12, which means we can only use either a single mana cost monster or lower mana cost monsters with lower stats. And the rulesets were STAMPEDE and LOST MAGIC thus making the game a physical damage game.
I checked the opponent's previous matches and found that he used SCARRED LLAMA MAGE three times out of five games, so I based my lineup on that. Because of his armor and two melee attack damage, CRUEL SETHROPOD is the best monster to counter him, and I only need to add a monster that can counter physical damage and support CRUEL SETHROPOD, which is a monster with the ability REPAIR.
SUMMONER
KELYA FRENDUL, along with CRUEL SETHROPOD, is the best summoner because he increases the armor and speed of my monsters, allowing them to live longer because there is only physical damage available.
TANKS
The main character in this lineup is CRUEL SETHROPOD, who will be the main tank and damage dealer. This monster will win the game for as long as he lives.
UTILITY MONSTERS
IGOR DARKSPEAR is a water splinter epic monster with 1 ranged damage. I chose this monster because if the enemy went for the SNEAK monster, he will be able to tank it due to his HP and the armor from the summoner's buff, giving my CRUEL SETHROPOD space to eliminate the enemy's monsters.
RANGE DAMAGE MONSTER
IGOR DARKSPEAR is an epic monster from the water splinter with 1 ranged damage. I chose this monster because if the enemy went for the SNEAK monster, he will be able to tank it due to his HP and the armor from the summoner's buff, giving my CRUEL SETHROPOD space to eliminate the enemy's monsters.
KELYA FRENDUL versus SCARRED LLAMA MAGE Based on the summoners, I was clearly at a disadvantage due to the buffs they provide, but summoners do not win games; it is your monsters who do.
We saw in the first round that only my CRUEL SETHROPOD deals damage to his STONE GOLEM due to his ability SHIELD, and any physical damage with 1 will deal 0 damage to him. Even so, I have my SCAVO HIRELING to repair the armor of my CRUEL SETHROPOD, so even though I deal 1 damage per round and he does 2, I still deal more damage.
The game was back and forth from the third round to the final round 15. My CRUEL SETHROPOD deals one damage, while his STONE GOLEM deals two, and my SCAVO HIRELING repairs two armors, rendering his physical damage useless and allowing me to win the game.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
Splinterlands is a card game in which you can easily win even if you have a card disadvantage if you predict which cards he will use. If I changed anything in my lineup, I would most likely lose, so this lineup is the best counter to his.
CRUEL SETHROPOD is an amazing card, especially in my league. I use his most of the time because of his cheap mana cost and there are so many monsters that you can play with him.
