Hi guys, Kraz here again sharing my weekly battle challenge for CRYPT BEETLE.
First, we have to know who is Crypt Beetle. It is a Common monster from the Death Splinter, and according to splinterlands lore; Any explorers that delve too deeply into the crypts, mausoleums, and necropolises of the world will find a foe they are unprepared for. Not undead, not liches, and not other monsters that can be found in the deep. Instead, tales are told of the crypt beetles. Enormous insects that are found feeding on the corpses within. Most explorers think they are a mere nuisance and will try to scare them away from whatever tomb they are choosing to rob.
But things don't end well for those explorers. These large beetles will defend themselves and their food aggressively. And any explorer that makes it back out alive will have impressive scars to show from the crypt beetle's bite.
We learned that CRYPT BEETLE are defensive with their food and cannot be easily removed or killed because their carapace has the ability SHIELD to protect themselves from any physical damage.
Let me show you the stats of my level 3 CRYPT BEETLE.

CARD PRICE
At the time of writing, the current price of a regular foil CRYPT BEETLE is $0.088 per bcx, and you'll need 14 bcx to get this monster to level 3, which will cost you $1.232.
The gold foil card is currently priced at $0.9 and will automatically level up to level 3 as well as grant you 125 card power.
If you prefer to rent the cards, a level 3 regular foil CRYPT BEELTE will cost 0.283 DEC per day, and a gold foil card will cost 0.317 DEC per day. Thus, if you plan to rent this card, look into both the gold foil and regular versions, and because the price difference is negligible.
STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS
STRENGTH, because of its low cost, this card is available for purchase or rental. It also has a low mana cost of 2 and can be used in all mana cap games, and with his ability Shield, he will be an excellent tank against any physical damage. The best time to use this card is during the Equalizer ruleset, which significantly increases his HP.
WEAKNESS, this monster's HP is 2, which is considered very low, which is why his weakness is magic damage, he can be killed in a single turn due to his HP. His damage is also low, at 1 melee damage, so his main purpose is to tank physical damage.
RULESET
Because of the high mana cap of 46, I will not be limited in choosing my monsters, and the same will be true for the enemy. This is why I need to utilize the rulesets to my advantage. The first ruleset is Reverse Speed and according to Splintercards; it will allow the slowest monster to attack first and have the best chance of evading attacks. and the second ruleset is Explosive Weaponry , all of the monsters will have the blast ability.
My main goal is to get slow monsters and place my CRYPT BEETLE in the second position because he is a great tank that can absorb blast damage against physical damage. Now I need a monster/summoner to assist my CRYPT BEETLE in increasing his defense against magical damage. And, while my CRYPT BEETLE is tanking the damage, I'll choose monsters that can spread out my damage in order to take advantage of the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.
SUMMONER
THADDIUS BROOD will be able to increase the magical defense of my CRYPT BEETLE. And it will keep my monsters from taking a huge amount of damage from magical monsters.
TANKS
DISINTEGRATOR has a 1 speed, allowing him to be the first monster to deal damage, and his ability Demoralize reduces melee damage by one. As a result, if the enemy chooses a melee tank, CRYPT BEETLE will take less damage.
CRYPT BEETLE, I placed him in second place because he is the best monster that can withstand blast damage. The longer this monster lives, the more plausible it is that I will win.
SNEAK COMBO
URAEUS is the first monster in my Sneak combo, and he will be the first to deal damage and remove the enemy's backline armor.
SAND WORM, my main damage-dealing Sneak monster, and will be able to finish off the enemy backline monster with his raw damage.
DAMAGE DEALERS
MAGI OF CHAOS, I needed another type of damage because all of my monsters are physical. And MAGI OF CHAOS is the best magic dealing damage monster that I can use.
Since we have the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, I need a monster that can spread out the damage from the blast, and MANTROID is the best monster for this.
The enemy went for GENERAL SLOAN and range monsters because range monsters are known for their lack of speed. Thus, he utilized the Reverse Speed ruleset and went for a glass cannon lineup.
The enemy has a good lineup for both rulesets, choosing high damage monsters with slow speed and SHIELDBEARER to prevent the blast damage from spreading out. Despite having good damage dealers and a good tank, he lacks a secondary tank capable of absorbing blast damage.
Because the enemy has a Taunt monster, all of my damage is focused on his first and second position monsters, which is why I was able to kill his GARGOYA DEVIL without allowing that monster to deal damage, and I also dealt a significant amount of damage with his SANDWORM. His monster's damage is spread out, he was able to damage almost all of my monsters by using blast damage, but because his damage is so spread out, he was unable to finish any of my monsters.
In the final and second round. After killing his SHIELDBEARER, the rest of his monsters became vulnerable, and I was able to eliminate all of them without allowing him to deal any damage.
AFTERTHOUGHTS
Choosing monsters/summoners that complement each other will win you the game, especially if they are already well-versed in the rules. The main difference in our lineup was the secondary tank; if he had chosen an excellent second position tank like CRYPT BEETLE, the outcome of the battle could have been different.
CRYPT BEETLE is a situational card; due to his flaws, I don't have many opportunities to use him. However, if the opportunity to use him presents itself, he is a fantastic monster to have and will help you win.
