Hello world and fellow Hivers

As you already know by now except for those who just woke up, today is Friday guys and in my country, this Monday is a rest day so, I'm pretty pumped up for the upcoming four days of chilling and studying. Enough with my personal BS, once again we are going to review one of my battles from the ladder and we are going to view new ways of dealing with our opponent's formations! Also, I want to make clear that the initiative once again is the Social media Challenge from Splinterlands and our goal is to promote the game in a fun and instructive way and to bring more engagement to the game on the Hive platform! If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part if you are new to @splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words! If you are familiar with the game skip this part!

So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get (such as NFT-cards, etc). If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

THE BATTLE

Summoner Selection

If you are following up with my articles you already know that one of my favorite Dragon Summoners is Daria Dragonscale. I usually rent this Summoner at level 3 when I play in the Silver league. It grants the ability +1 Meele to all of your monsters and this summoner really makes my life easier because I really have the flexibility to choose the formation I want to play depending on my enemy's history!

Ruleset

  • Equal Opportunity: All monsters will attack from any position (range monsters cannot attack from position 1) and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
  • Odd ones out: Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

Team Formation

2022-06-10 (4).png

  • The first monster I used is the Djinn Muirat, the reason is obviously to tank the magic damage from my opponents' monsters.
  • The second monster I used is Spineback the Wolf, and the reason I used this specific monster is the high Speed and the melee damage!
  • My third choice was Pelacor Deceiver, I chose this monster because of his buff stats (4 Speed,9 HP).
  • The fourth pick was Sand Worm, a very reliable sneak monster and will shatter his backline.
  • My fifth pick was Uraeus and I chose this card because it's an excellent damage dealer at the backline.
  • My last pick was Silen Sha-Vi, and the reason was the sneak ability to press even more in his backline formation!.

How to approach the battle

When you face the rule Equal Opportunity, you should immediately focus on the type of monsters that deal the max damage output! That depends on the cards you own or you are willing to rent! The most important thing to remember is that the order you are placing your cards plays a crucial role! Another major game-changer is the Speed of your monsters because keep in mind that all enemy cards probably are going to focus on your weakest monster so Speed can prevent a lot of bad scenarios! The summoner you should choose would be good if it grants you a bonus or it gives you more Speed or grants you Shield.

So, perhaps I'm just a noob, but I'm curious why you focused on Sneak monsters when Equal Opportunity was active. Were you picking them for their stats, and they just happened to all have Sneak?

I'm wondering if there's some kinda interaction between Sneak and the Equal Opportunity rule set that I'm missing :S

!PGM

Hey, the main reason I wanted to have the sneak monsters was the battle history of my opponent because his main damage source was always in the backline! So I wanted to make sure that I will focus on his backline monsters. Also, when the Sneak and Equal Opportunity rule set is on the Sneak prevails!

I see you have this all down to a fine art, Well done

Dragon summoners seem to be OP in overall but well done :)

Thanks for sharing! - @libertycrypto27

Daria Dragonscale is also for me one of my favorite summoners. Good strategy in your battle!
