It's Sunday today and for most of us is the last day of freedom before that Monday feeling hits again, so I decided to make a Splinterlands post in my spare time because I wanted to share this specific battle! The initiative once again is the Social media Challenge from Splinterlands and our goal is to promote the game in a fun and instructive way and to bring more engagement to the game on the Hive platform! If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part if you are new to @splinterlands, I will make a summary for you!
I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words! If you are familiar with the game skip this part! So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn DEC (basically the crypto-coin of the game), the more you play and you are going up in the ladder, the more rewards you get (such as NFT-cards, etc). If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning DEC and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!
THE BATTLE
Summoner Selection
Ruleset
STAMPEDE: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
EARTHQUAKE : Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Team Formation
- The first monster I used is Hardy Stonefish, the reason is obviously to protect my main sources of damage!
- The second monster I used is Albatross, for the same reason as the first monster!
- My third choice was Djinn Oshannus, and this is the card I build around the whole formation! Also, it is our main DPS in this battle.
- The fourth pick was Ice Pixie, a very reliable low mana magic damage dealer!
- My fifth pick was Venari Wavesmith and I chose this card because it's the second core card for this formation because of the ability Protect that gives all friendly monsters 2 Armor! Essential when you face the Earthquake ability.
- My last pick was Naga Assassin, and the reason was the high Speed and the Range attack!
How to approach the battle
When you face the earthquake rule you should consider a formation with Flying ability monsters or pick a summoner that grants the flying ability to your formation like BRIGHTON BLOOM or find a clever way to deal more damage quickly to your opponent and to stole the incoming damage from your opponent and the ruleset! As you see today we took the hard way and we manage to do it because on offense we focused on Magic Damage and in defense, we secured our deck with the Venari Wavesmith!
