How are you Hivers? Today I take you to the second part of the lovely medieval festival of Pescia. Today we will explore some of the districts we visited, for the first part you will find the link here (https://hive.blog/hive-184437/@noemilunastorta/medieval-festival-in-pescia-first).

After crossing the river we ended up in the San Francesco district, the first thing we noticed was a church that struck us a lot, in fact it was the first thing we visited, the church had multiple entrances and wound along the street where there were stalls of medieval inspiration with figures explaining the ancient arts, even the church courtyard was used for the occasion in medieval style. The church of San Francesco has a smaller side entrance that opens onto a modest but very beautiful chapel, it is a church that dates back to 1300 dedicated to San Francesco of Assisi, the first chapel has some fascinating frescoes, a large wooden crucifix and some statues dedicated to the saint. It is said that Saint Francis, passing through Pescia, greatly impressed the local inhabitants and that a rich merchant gave him a small church as a gift which became an extremely popular place, so much so that a special bridge had to be built to connect the church to the city on the other side of the river , a bridge that was demolished and then rebuilt during the Second World War.

Then we entered the center of the church, rich in decorations with a painted and colored wooden ceiling and a single nave from which monumental chapels unfold in an almost baroque style dedicated to rich families and small altars and niches in pietra serena dedicated to various saints and to the Madonna, the wooden ceiling and the thousand-colored Gothic windows give the church a unique and particular light, creating a modern atmosphere. The chapels are rich in decorations and frescoes, a riot of unique beauty. I really liked this church, especially the various chapels. After leaving the church we continued visiting the internal courtyard and the main street, we saw the candle master, the apothecaries' stalls where you could buy plants and herbs, the preparation of armor and various stalls with leather work. It was one of my favorite districts, soon I will also post the last district with its surprises and its places of worship. Good night hivers.

Buenas noches hivers .
