A few days ago, we visited DNCC Wonderland, commonly known as Shishu Mela, located on Mirpur Road in Dhaka- Bangladesh. This trip was a special treat for my son, who had recently been honored as his school's Star of the Month!
Despite the humid weather and the discomfort of the sun, we had an incredibly enjoyable day filled with fun and excitement.
Shishu Mela is not an enormous amusement park, but it makes excellent use of its space, packing in a variety of rides and attractions that cater to both children and adults.
The park's entry fees and ride prices are very reasonable, making it an affordable option for families. Most rides cost around 50 taka ($0.50), with some of the more popular ones priced at 100 taka ($1). This affordability allowed us to enjoy multiple rides without worrying about breaking the bank.
Our adventure began with the Number Car ride, which my son enjoyed so much that he went on it twice. The joy and excitement on his face were priceless, making the whole trip worthwhile.
Next, we experienced the thrill of the Series Wheel, a large Ferris wheel that provided a panoramic view of the entire park. The gentle rocking of the cabins and the cool breeze at the top were a welcome respite from the heat.
Shishu Mela is not just about the rides; it also offers various attractions and activities that make the visit even more enjoyable. During our visit, a TV channel was shooting a music video with children, and it was fascinating to watch the production process.
The vibrant energy of the place, combined with the cheerful sounds of children playing and laughing, created a lively and joyful atmosphere.
The park is well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample seating areas for parents to relax while their children enjoy the rides. There are also several food stalls offering a variety of snacks and refreshments, which we appreciated after a few hours of fun. We treated ourselves to some ice cream and cold drinks, which helped us cool down and recharge for more adventures.
Overall, our trip to DNCC Wonderland was a memorable and delightful experience. Despite the heat, we thoroughly enjoyed the rides, the atmosphere, and the chance to spend quality time together as a family. For a trip that cost us less than $10, it was a fantastic way to celebrate my son's achievement and create lasting memories.
