Street art in Vienna, Austria

in #hive-1847844 months ago

Even though the trip to Austria happened already 2 years ago, some memories are meant to last forever. And still on here, I'd like to include the few but very welcomed street arts I managed to discover while I was rushing in between destinations, trying to explore the city as much as possible in the very few amount of time I had dedicated to this trip.

If I'd travel on my own, then exploring the local street art of each place I end up to would be a must-see for sure. Sadly or happily, I am always travelling with either family or friends and none of them share the same passion for street art on the level I do. Hence why, we always end up with our time fully booked for all kinds of tourist attractions and only get to observe and take a quick picture of the street art that ends up randomly in our way.

Even if this is a lot more beautiful way to explore street art as you never have expectations, it comes with unclear information on where these were placed, nor have time to find the story behind the masterpiece we get to observe for a couple of seconds. But I'd consider it a big loss not to share what I managed to capture during my stay in Vienna, Austria... so here we go!

The first one we spotted was this place, which even if it doesn't come with large paintings on tall buildings, I still loved the bits of colours brought to a rather common place for parking your bike. This is the feeling I love so much about street art, as no matter how boring or common a place is, it can have a whole new perspective with a bit of colour added to it!

Both of these two were spotted at the last moment crossing the street to our destinations, hence why the pictures turned out so blurry, lol.

If I have to be honest though, I would absolutely adore to live in a block of apartments where it has details like these on it. Even if I'd not be able to observe them fully because of the obvious reasons, being aware that I sort of end up being part of the overall street art would be a change of mood for sure!

Another one that popped pretty unexpectedly on our way but I think it has to do with the theater nearby.

Back when I was living in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, there were quite a few stairs painted like this. And most of them were part of very unpopular locations, away from the main boulevards or streets which made them even more interesting to observe during a walk. That's where my mind flew almost right away, making me miss those times.

Not really street art, but still pieces of art. I won't bring any comments to the 2nd picture as it can be noticed it's about music which represents a branch of art from all points of view, but the 1st picture which was taken when crossing the street on our way to the Austrian Parliament of Vienna.

I am not sure if the colours picked for the crosswalk are related to LGBTQ+ community or not, but I still enjoyed noticing some colours during a day with grumpy weather outside.

And last but not least, some serious street art happened. The first one is taken in one of Vienna's Christmas Markets which I'm not sure if it was related to those moments or it's pure art that you can admire any season. Either way, I loved every single painting part of the collection.

The other two pictures I captured on the way to Haus des Meeres, yet a place that I have to write about.

Again, I'm sorry I didn't manage to offer more information about each of the art shared in this post but my trips to foreign countries are often the definition of chaos as we always try to see as much as possible in a short period of time, always ending up with no time for extra information of the street art that pops randomly in our way.

But I promise to take my revenge with the parts of the Sibiu Street Art Festival that I will bring more and more of soon!

I love how you remembered exactly how the trip went two years ago
The murals look really nice

Yeah, it's not hard to remember when the trip took place but where those street arts were. Too sad I don't have exact information about them.

That is street art in large size, they are works with large dimensions! I was fascinated by the second photo 😍

Have a great Wednesday, dear @gabrielatravels 😊

Thank you! Appreciate your support 🙏🏼

Very cool selection of StreetArt especially the last two walls. I really like the work of Roa with his giant b&w animals. We have one of his mural in Montreal, you can see it on the Weekly StreetArt of this week. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a Wonderful day

Oh, awesome! The world is so small :)

You have an eye to photograph all these art details. I think I would have passed by without seeing them. 🤪😁

I miss Vienna or any trip! 🤣🤣

Ha! Thanks so much :)

I miss a trip so badly too! Sadly, there is no trip for me other than a couple of days celebrated in Brasov when it's my birthday. This year have been such a mess.

Well, Brasov sounds lovely. For many reasons, this year we traveled less than lets say last year or 2022. But one trip to the sea will be perfect to end the year with. Although we (I mostly) 😆 made some plans for a weekend get away with the family in September not far away from home. Hopefully we'll go...😒😁

Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Well, I think it helped :)) because we were just talking yesterday that surely we'll go in Cta probably, if not somewhere else. So definitely some vacation and sea vitamin will be included this year too. When is your birthday btw?:d

That's nice! Happy to hear you got the good news so soon, haha. On 1st September. I bring the autumn season every year haha

Haha! Thats so cool! Hopefully I wont forget the date to tell you Happy Birthday! 😍
