Magandang buhay!
It's another quiet early morning in DD and time to showcase the town of Sabangan in photos. Thanks to the cool scenery and artwork along its roads, we still enjoyed the trip even when it was dreary that day and I'm not too fond of the rain when on the go.
To start, here is a picture of the place's signage (I ❤️ Sabangan) installed atop the roadside barrier. And it chuffed me so because it's green. The color is eye-friendly to me :) But why the umbrella and a shovel? A sharp-eyed fellow out there might be asking.
A young man took the initiative to give traffic signals to motorists. Bless him for doing so. There were road works along that curve and heavy equipments were coming and going.
Anyway, today's highlights are the artwork seen and photographed on a stretchy road wall. With its length, only half had colors, and with the other half already premiered with white paint, we expect more wonders to come.
We were glad a few vehicles were passing by that time we had the chance to have an unimpeded view of the art and photograph them, although we pulled over at the wrong side of the road, disregarding road etiquette for a little while. If we were in the city, a camera would have recorded us already, and come renewal time, we would be paying penalties and given demerits, lol! Thankfully, the countryside is more forgiving😊
Okay, let's take a closer look at the artwork.
They mostly showcase the place's natural resources (mountains, lakes, waterfalls, rivers, farmlands, etc), tradition, and lifestyle, among other things. The town's tagline "Happy Sabangan" is also included in some of them. What a way to promote 'happiness' :)
Based on this mural, we assumed the whole wall had been painted last year during their 14th Gagayam Festival where they had fun festivities of reliving and enriching their cultural heritage.
By the way, the pic below is the other half of the wall. It's still bare but we look forward to seeing it painted with colors the next time we travel to that place. It is a little far from home but would be worth another visit.
And these last ones were snapped as we descended the curvy road earlier that day.
Yep, we noticed it from afar. I would say street art can never escape our eyes, lol!
And with that, let me end this edition of our street art finds before I spurt out any more ramblings.😅 Thank you and here's to wishing you all a terrific day (night) wherever you are.
